“We’re all mad here…”
But where, exactly is “here,” you ask? Why, it’s just outside Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian Resort, which has brought back the Gone Mad Party on Wednesdays during the month of June!
This Alice in Wonderland-themed shindig made its limited-run debut in 2016, and its return gives guests the opportunity to view the new Happily Ever After Fireworks Spectacular from the Grill’s outdoor seating area from 7:00 – 9:30 pm.
True, the fireworks don’t last two and a half hours 😉 , so music and dancing otherwise help to set the scene, along with whimsical furniture all the way from the west coast (originally used at the Mad T Party in Disneyland)!
While the party itself is free, drinks and eats are available for an additional charge. And with extra fun eats, you’ll want to plan accordingly for snacks and sips!
Like last year, you don’t need to be a Grand Floridian Resort guest to attend, and no reservation is required. However, this little guideline is still a good idea: it is best to call the Grand Floridian Resort ahead of time (or stop by the front desk) to ensure that the party is taking place on your visit, as it can be cancelled due to inclement weather. And you might want to show up a little early, as space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sure, it looks like fun and something different to try once, like maybe on the day I go to afternoon tea.
This sounds awesome! Is the food available for purchase for the length of the event? I read reviews about really long lines at last year’s events. Wondering if it dies down if you wait to buy food a little later? Thanks! 🙂
Wow. This looks like a lot of fun. But…..I wonder how well you can see the new fireworks show. If viewing is spectacular, then it should be awesome, since the cupcakes look divine.
Is this going to be taking place in July as well?
Sure hope this continues in the month of July when we arrive!
Yes I would love to go to a mad hat party!
Yes I would definitely go, last year we did the Ferrytale desert cruise, that was fun too.
Do you think they will bring this back for 2019? If so, where would we be able to find that information?
