We can’t tell you how many times we’ve watched Up and bawled like babies (how are you not crying when Carl gives Russell the grape soda pin?!).
And, although it really hits us in the feels to see Ellie’s Adventure Book every time we watch the movie, we can’t get over how meaningful and special it is. So, what better time is there than now to make your own version filled with YOUR memories??
We’re here to give you a few tips and tricks on how to make your Adventure Book as cool as Carl’s floating balloon house (which is just pretty awesome, you have to admit!). Oh, and if you finish your scrapbook, you can totally earn your Arts and Crafts Wilderness Explorer badge, according to Russell! 😉
While we were recently watch Up for the hundredth time, we noticed that a lot of the memories that Ellie put in her book were personal mementos like maps, drawings, and photographs.
But, we also noticed that Ellie used a lot of stamps and postcards in her decorations of the places she wanted to go one day (i.e. Paradise Falls, ya’ll).
She also wrote in a lot of her own descriptions, thoughts, and feelings about what her explorations may bring in the future.
So, we thought that your own Adventure Book could take some inspiration from Ellie’s version, while also making it completely unique with your creativity!! We just happened to find an Adventure Book you can start off with (it has fancy-schmancy embossed lettering on the front, so brownie points) as you gather up all your favorite mementos and photos to decorate with.
This Adventure Book is actually also a package that comes with journal stickers, postcards from the film (!!!), self-adhesive photo corners, and decorative tape so you can really go all out. Also, just look at the sweet Paradise Falls house on the back (this scrapbook already has our whole heart).
We have SO many photos saved up of our family and friends, but especially our Disney trips throughout the years! And, even though most photo albums come with protective sleeves, you can just print off your photos and stick them directly in your book with this extra set of self-adhesive photo corners. They have such a cute retro vibe AND they’re mega functional.
Although you could always put some stamps from the different places you visit around the world, you can also snag some of The Art of Disney stamps! Show off your friendship and loyalty like Russell and Doug…
…or admire the Carl to your Ellie as you think about your lifelong romance and special times together with your special someone.
Ya’ll ready for this?? We found DISNEY PARKS themed stickers and cut-outs (mic drop)!! You can design your pages with Mickey hands, Minnie’s polka dots, and even some of your favorite Disney sayings in your scrapbook. Basically, you can make those Disney vacation memories even more magical as you decorate the pages with fireworks, castles, and balloons.
While you might be one of those people who has AH-MAZING handwriting (teach us your ways), sometimes it’s easier to have an extra hand with lettering. You can use these stencils on your pages to make whatever you write all neat and pretty…
…while you write a special message or two with some metallic ink pens that will look GORGEOUS in your Adventure Book (or on any color paper)!
Maybe you can even write a heartfelt note like Ellie, or even just “Adventure is out there!” in honor of one of the best Pixar movies ever made (in our opinion, at least).
The wilderness must be explored, and so shall our arts and crafts supply as we decorate our new Adventure Books! What will you dream up for yours??
