We’re heading into the wilderness… Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, that is!

Welcome to Fort Wilderness!
We’re used to popping by P&J’s Southern Takeout — the counter service location tucked right by Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern — where we’re typically snacking on one of their frequently-changing specialty cupcakes, like the Black Forest Cupcake. (We’ve got ANOTHER one of those to show you today, so stay tuned!) But to fuel all your camping fun at the Fort, you may find it handy to have a cup o’ caffeine at the ready, too…
And today we’re sipping on a Wilderness Bark Latte that may be just the thing!

You’ll spot the Wilderness Bark Latte on the Beverages menu, noting that it’s available hot or iced.

Temperatures have been up and down here this week, but on this pleasant and bright morning, we ordered it up iced!

The Wilderness Bark Latte isn’t entirely new in these parts, by the way… it’s also served at Wilderness Lodge, where we’ve previously enjoyed it hot. You can find it at Roaring Fork these days, too.

Wilderness Bark Latte
Here at Fort Wilderness, the Wilderness Bark Latte likewise presents coffee with hazelnut and chocolate, and a hearty drizzle of chocolate syrup. It’s topped with whipped cream and even more chocolate.

As you likely anticipate, it tastes just like Nutella! And the nice thing is, the hazelnut flavor doesn’t get buried under all that extra chocolate — it comes through nicely in this very sweet and creamy sip.
Obviously, those who prefer a more straightforward coffee may find it’s way too sweet. It’s on par with the sweetness of your typical Starbucks flavored latte, as it’s served. (In fact, our taste-tester shared that, for her preferences of less-sweet coffees, she’d recommend asking for HALF of the pumps of the chocolate and hazelnut syrups.)

But the flavors do work well together overall, and if you’re looking for a true vacation indulgence to start your day — or a sweet afternoon pick-me-up — the Wilderness Bark Latte could definitely do the trick! And I gotta say, the price of $4.89 is pretty good for a specialty coffee drink of this size with all the fixin’s.
Oh, and by the way… here at P&J’s Southern Takeout, you can now refill your own Refillable Resort Mug at the self-service drink station now, as we’ve seen at other Resorts again just this week. You can read more about it here!

Self-service beverage stations are open

And as for the Wilderness Bark Latte, that’s one more treat for all you HAPPY CAMPERS at Fort Wilderness! We’ll see you back here real soon!
