All around Disney World we are seeing restaurants and experiences reopen, and lots of things are going back to normal including the removal of masks, social distancing, and temperature checks.
One of the locations reopening TOMORROW is La Cava del Tequila located in the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT.
Along with its reopening, La Cava del Tequila has some pretty amazing new additions for guests visiting. A new Tequila crafted exclusively and specifically for La Cava and a New Welcome Margarita.
The first and most important announcement was about the new Tequila that is being featured EXCLUSIVELY at La Cava del Tequila, and we were so excited to hear all the preparation and work that went into this collaboration!
It is their first-ever collaboration with a Tequila brand and has been in the works for the past six years. The tequila is an Extra Añejo Tequila and it is made by Tromba Tequila. Javier from La Cava first talked with Marco Cedano from Tromba Tequila 6 years ago, and they decided that even though it would take 5 years to produce a specially crafted Extra Añejo Tequila, that is the path that both parties wanted to embark on.
If you are wondering what Extra Añejo Tequila is then you are in luck cause we are here to fill you in. Extra Añejo Tequila, unlike Añejo Tequila (which is aged 1-3 years), is aged more than three years. This specific Tequila is using some of their very first batches of Blanco tequila and is aged five years in American oak barrels. Afterward, artisan families carefully craft the hand-blown bottle, beautiful case, and cork for the tequila.
If the announcement of a brand new EXCLUSIVE tequila was not enough for you, then La Cava is also featuring a NEW Welcome Margarita for its guests.
The new margarita is made with Ojo de Tigre mezcal, blackberry purée, Ancho Reyes Verde liqueur, Abasolo corn whiskey, agave nectar, lime juice, and a black ant salt rim. That is right… ants!
We seriously cannot wait for this new experience at La Cava del Tequila, and are really excited to taste that new margarita.
