Rules regarding face masks, social distancing, and more have been changing at Disney World and Disneyland over the past few weeks.
Just recently, masks became optional for fully vaccinated guests at Disneyland in most locations. Now, we’ve seen a big change made when it comes to mask rules for Disneyland’s Cast Members.
A big thanks to our reader Joe (@schreiberjoe on Instagram) for alerting us to this!
According to a post from Workers United Local 50 on their Facebook, the mask policy for Disneyland Cast Members will be changing on June 26th in light of updated CAL/OSHA guidance. Workers United Local 50 represents a number of Disneyland Cast Members working in food service.
According to Workers United, beginning on June 26th, Cast physical distancing and secondary PPE will become optional for all Cast Members.
Face masks will also become optional for fully vaccinated Cast Members when working outdoors. Face coverings will continue to be required outdoors, however, for all Cast Members who are not fully vaccinated.
Additionally, all Cast Members (including those who are fully vaccinated) will still be required to wear masks indoors, in select health operations, and in enclosed vehicles.
Cast Members who feel more comfortable wearing the masks and PPE, and who want to continue to wear Disney’s issued face masks and secondary PPE (including shields, goggles, and more) will still be allowed to do so.
This is somewhat similar to an initial change that was made in Disney World where fully vaccinated Disney World Cast Members were first allowed to remove their masks when working outdoors. Now, Disney World has updated its policy to note that masks are optional for fully vaccinated Cast Members indoors and outdoors. We expect Disneyland’s policy will change to match Disney World’s eventually.
Keep in mind that for guests visiting Disneyland, masks are optional for fully vaccinated guests indoors and outdoors. Face coverings are required for ALL guests, however, on the bus to and from the Toy Story parking lot.
We’ll keep an eye out for more details and let you know what we find.
