If you’ve felt a void in your heart from the end of the 2022 EPCOT Festival of the Arts, do not fear. The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will be starting soon!
During the Festival, there will be lots of snacks to try, topiaries to take selfies with, and entertainment to enjoy. Preparations are already well underway for the Festival’s start and recently we spotted some signs and menus for an activity and food items that you won’t want to miss. But this year they’ll cost you a little bit MORE than before.
Ready to go on a scavenger hunt in EPCOT?! We’ve seen a number of festival-themed scavenger hunts over the past several months. During the Food and Wine Festival, you’ll find Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak. During the Festival of the Holidays, you’ll have to search for Olaf as he hides throughout World Showcase. At the Festival of the Arts, Figment disguises himself to be part of many paintings throughout the park. And finally, at the Flower and Garden Festival, you’ll have to search for Spike the Bee in order to claim your special prize!
The activity is officially called Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration. As part of this scavenger hunt, guests purchase a map and then search for Spike the Bee throughout EPCOT. Guests will then match Spike and the plants he is next to and place the corresponding stickers in the appropriate places on the map.
Once complete, guests can return the map to Disney Traders or World Traveler for a special prize! Last year, the prizes were some fun tumblers!
The activity hasn’t officially begun yet as the Festival doesn’t start until tomorrow and the prizes have yet to be revealed for this year, but as we were walking through EPCOT today we DID see a sign advertising the scavenger hunt. As you’ll see on the sign, the scavenger hunt costs $9.99 (plus tax) this year. Last year, the activity cost $7.99 (plus tax), so that’s an increase of $2. Will the prize be worth it? Only time will tell!
We had seen this increased price listed on Disney’s Flower and Garden website already, but we wanted to make sure we pointed it out to you today so you could pay particularly close attention to it and adjust your budgets if necessary. That $9.99 price is the same as the cost for the Figment Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt that took place during the 2022 Festival of the Arts, so perhaps the increase isn’t surprising, but it’s still something to be aware of.
But the scavenger hunt isn’t the only thing that’s gotten a price increase! During our time walking around EPCOT, we also saw that several food items have also INCREASED in price at the Flower and Garden Festival.
For example, over at up at the Trowel and Trellis booth, the Impossible Sausage and Kale Soup is now priced at $5.25 (previously $5). Additionally, all of the beers we’ve seen on the Festival menus so far appear to have increased in price. Previously, prices were $4.50 for 6 oz. and $8.50 for 12 oz. Now they are $5 for 6 oz. and $9 for 12 oz.
That’s just the start of it. To see more about the price increases we’ve seen at the Festival, click here.
These join the HUNDREDS of price increases we’ve seen on food items throughout Disney World recently, the sneaky ticket price increases made not too long ago, and other price increases made in Disney World.
In other words, if you’re heading to Disney World soon, be prepared to adjust those budgets.
