A brand NEW restaurant has opened in Downtown Disney and we’ve got all the details you need to know right here!
Though you might already be a fan of Earl of Sandwich’s many…well…sandwiches, now they’ve expanded with a full-service (table service) option in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort. We’re talking burgers, buffalo wings, spaghetti & meatballs, and MANY other options that a “traditional” Earl of Sandwich quick service spot doesn’t serve up. So what’s it like to eat here? Let’s check it out!
On February 28th, Earl of Sandwich’s table service spot — Earl of Sandwich Tavern — officially opened! This is a brand new table service concept for the group. Robert Earl, CEO of Earl Enterprises, shared, “We are thrilled to be back.”
Just to be clear, there are now 2 Earl of Sandwich options in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort — Earl of Sandwich (the traditional quick-service-style spot you know and love), and Earl of Sandwich Tavern (the table service option). Both of these spots are now open.
Earl of Sandwich Tavern is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You’ll find it temporarily housed within the old La Brea Bakery spot (note that the La Brea Bakery location is eventually supposed to become an all-new Porto’s location, so we’ll be on the lookout for changes and restaurant shifts around Downtown Disney).
It has an indoor bar that serves signature cocktails, wine, and beer.
There’s some indoor seating at the bar…
…as well as al fresco dining on the patio.
Since the table service location is still an Earl of Sandwich spot, you might expect that the menu would be FULL of just sandwiches — but you’d be…WRONG! If you want those classic Earl of Sandwich sandwiches, you can visit the quick service spot nearby. But, the table service Earl of Sandwich Tavern restaurant is more of a full-service spot with a unique menu.
In terms of dishes, breakfast includes things like Croissant French Toast, Breakfast Slam, Avocado Toast, Breakfast Burrito, Eggs Benedict, and Western Omelet. We visited a bit later in the day, so we hit the lunch menu (which only features 6 sandwiches — 2 of which are burgers).
The menu includes a variety of starters and soups…
…salads…
…entrees…
…and sandwiches.
There are also side items, a kids menu, and desserts.
And you can opt for a coffee or tea while here too!
We started our meal with the Fish Tacos!
And fish tacos!

These are priced at $27 and come with mahi-mahi, pickled onion, creamy slaw, chipotle salsa, and cilantro.
Here’s a closer look at those tacos — they look promising! We’ll have a full review coming soon so stay tuned for that.
Also, note that the tacos came with rice and some beans.
Next, we grabbed the Mac-N-Cheese Burger for $24.

This is made with an 8 oz. patty, six cheese mac-n-cheese, cheddar, crispy onion straws, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and special sauce on a brioche bun. It was served with fries.
Check out that mac & cheese from the side view…
…and look at the crispy onions hiding inside!
This is another one that has some promising looks!
Finally, we had to end things with something sweet, so we grabbed the White Chocolate Bread Pudding, priced at $12. This comes with warm white chocolate bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream and a sweet whiskey sauce.
Just be warned, that ice cream can melt fast, so you’ll want to dig in quickly before you have vanilla ice cream soup!
And that’s a first look at our meal at Earl of Sandwich Tavern. It’s definitely different than the “standard” quick service Earl of Sandwich restaurant that really focuses only on sandwiches and quick sides. This offers a full-service meal with more unique eats. We’ll be sharing our FULL thoughts with a review of this spot soon, so stay tuned!
