Listen — generally speaking, we advise you NOT to go in alleys after dark. Just as an overall life rule, that seems like a very bad idea.

Downtown Disney
But JUST THIS ONCE, we might change our minds about that.
Disneyland just made an announcement that introduced the ONLY alley we want to visit after dark. Where can you find this mysterious place? At Downtown Disney! It turns out, “the courtyard next to Splitsville Luxury Lanes is being transformed into an exciting space” called The Alley! (OK sorry, we know that was a corny joke but we couldn’t help it.)

The Alley will be an outdoor patio with interactive games, live music, lounge areas, and tables for dining. Disney said that guests who purchase food and beverages from Splitsville will be able to use this dining space (so it sounds like The Alley won’t have its own food but is just a space for you to enjoy Splitsville’s food).

Splitsville
This is just one of the many updates coming to Downtown Disney. We’ve already tried the new beignets at the revamped Beignet Express, and we can’t wait to check out not one, not two, but FOUR new restaurants coming soon. We’ve also been to try the NEW Clyde’s Hot Chicken and to sample the updated menu at Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio (which used to be Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen before it was remodeled).

Beignets Expressed
Don’t forget that Downtown Disney is currently celebrating Black Music Month with lots of new, limited-time offerings. Throughout the month, there are nightly live band performances at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage featuring different genres of music like Jazz Fusion, Caribbean, and Mid-Century Jazz. The Black-owned food truck Happy Ice is also serving up water ice desserts from June 9th through July 4th.
Stay tuned to DFB, and we’ll let you know about all the latest Disney updates (and please — for reals — stay out of dark alleys)!
