Looking to get a Disney+ subscription but don’t want to pay full price? We’ve got a deal for you!
Disney+ has seen a number of updates recently, with new shows and movies hitting the service or set to hit the service soon. And we’ve shared details about shows for the service that have been canceled. But now we’ve got some different news.
Disney has announced a limited-time offer on its Disney+ Basic streaming service. This is the ad-supported version of Disney+. If you sign up on or before September 20th, 2023 for Disney+ Basic, you can get the service for just $1.99 for 3 months! The service is normally $7.99 per month, so that is a pretty good initial savings.
The deal is only for new and “returning Disney+ subscribers with no current active entitlement.”
After those initial 3 months, Disney+ Basic (with ads) will automatically renew at the then-current monthly retail price (which, again, is currently $7.99 but is subject to change).
You can also sign up for a hulu and Disney+ bundle for $9.99 right now if you’re interested in doing that.
But keep in mind that the price of Disney+ Premium (no ads), the Disney Bundle Trio Basic, and the Disney Bundle Trio Premium WILL increase starting October 12th, 2023.
Here’s a look at some of the changes that’ll start on October 12th:
- Disney+ Premium (no ads) — will go from $10.99/month or $109.99/year to $13.99/month or $139.99 per year
- Disney Bundle Trio Basic — will go from $12.99/month to $14.99/month
- Disney Bundle Trio Premium — will go from $19.99/month to $24.99/month
- Legacy Disney Bundle — will go from $14.99/month to $18.99/month
This Disney+ deal comes as Disney’s contract battles with Charter-Spectrum continue. Disney is in the middle of a dispute with Charter Communications and that has left millions without access to Disney-owned channels. Charter executives have pushed for an updated deal that could give Charter cable customers “access to Disney’s ad-supported streaming services like Disney+ and ESPN+ at no additional cost.” That, among other things, could be preventing a deal from being reached between the parties.
Disney even made a statement saying, “Even though Charter also claims to value Disney’s direct-to-consumer services, the cable company is demanding these different services for free—as they have stated publicly—which does not make economic sense. Moreover, it does not make sense for consumers who desire the flexibility to have our streaming platforms as standalone services.” We’re on the lookout for updates about that ongoing battle.
A NEW Disney+ and hulu Duo Premium bundle has also recently become available. Disney has also announced that they’re planning on attacking password-sharing in the future, so more changes for the service could be on the way.
We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney+ news, but in the meantime, NOW might be a good time to sign up for the service and take advantage of the low price while you can! Stay tuned for the latest updates.
