It appears the Disneyland Resort may be shaking things up this year for its festivals!
Disneyland is home to many special events, including the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival and the Lunar New Year celebration. During this year’s Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure (DCA), however, Disneyland is trying something new when it comes to purchasing food and drinks at booths.
In previous years, DCA has offered the Sip and Savor Pass, a card that guests can purchase with eight tabs on it that can be redeemed at Food and Wine Festival food booths for select foods and non-alcoholic drinks. However, beginning this year, Sip and Savor is going digital for the Lunar New Year celebration!
The new Sip and Savor Pass comes in the form of a wristlet with an attached barcode that works as a tabs and receipts database. The Lunar New Year pass includes six coupons that can be redeemed for select food and non-alcoholic beverages at the following Lunar New Year marketplaces and dining locations at DCA:
Lunar New Year Marketplaces
- Longevity Noodle Co.
- Lucky 8 Lantern
- Prosperity Bao & Buns
- Red Dragon Spice Traders
- Bamboo Blessings
- Wrapped with Love
Lunar New Year Dining Locations
- Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta
- Cappuccino Cart
- Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill
- Churros near Goofy’s Sky School
- Churros near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
- Churros at Hollywood Land
- Festival Food & Beverage Cart
- Lamplight Lounge
- Pym Test Kitchen
- Studio Catering Co.
- Terran Treats
Per Disney, “Sip and Savor offerings at participating dining locations are tasting-size portions only, not full entrées.”
This year, guests can redeem coupons by either entering a 4-digit code upon checkout (the remaining coupons will be presented on the receipt) or by simply presenting their pass with the coupon still attached. Passes cost $43 for Magic Key Passholders and $46 for regular guests. Sip and Savor passes can be purchased at the following locations:
- Sip and Savor Cart
- Elias & Co.
- Julius Katz & Sons
- Rushin’ River Outfitters
- Seaside Souvenirs
- Festival Merchandise
The Lunar New Year Celebration at DCA runs from January 23rd through February 18th, 2024 after which the Sip and Savor pass expires.
If you decide to celebrate The Year of the Dragon at DCA with a Sip and Savor pass, you can use it to sample food alone or to share with family and friends to sample food together! As of now, we don’t know if this new form of Sip and Savor passes will be available for the Food and Wine Festival, but we’ll let you know as soon as there is an update!
We’ll keep you updated on all things Lunar New Year Celebration, including food reviews and tips! As always, be sure to follow us here at the Disney Food Blog for all the latest Disneyland news, reviews, and tips, as well!

Disclosure: In nearly all circumstances, Disney Food Blog writers and photographers pay full price for their own travel, hotel, food, beverage, and event tickets. We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disneyland to attend their media preview of the Lunar New Year Festival. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy.
