Now that we know when we can expect to catch a showing of this upcoming show, Disney’s been staying mum on further details about this villainous new show. If your craving for a bite of evil just can’t be subdued for a few more days, we got a sneak preview of the show and we’re giving you a FIRST LOOK.
It’s so close we can almost taste it — and it’s got a wicked bite! Disney World’s highly anticipated show, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is almost here. This upcoming show is set to feature dozens of the biggest Disney Villains live on stage right before our very eyes.

Although, first official performances begin on May 27th, we managed to get a sneak peek at the show. So this show replaces Lightning McQueen Racing Academy, and the first thing we noticed is that the theater has been given an entirely new look — and it’s STUNNING. It’s been turned into a proscenium theater with beautiful rows of seats that have an antique look and feel.

In the upcoming show, the Magic Mirror summons you to help him decide who’s been the most unfairly treated. Disney’s already teased that we’ll likely see fan-favorites such as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent step into the spotlight to make their case about why they’ve been treated the most unfairly over the years and this is your chance to finally hear the story straight from some of Disney’s most infamous baddies themselves.
This show uses a combination of live actors, as well as LED screens that literally bring the stage to life. Everythiing about the show feels really alive. Of course, you can’t have the Magic Mirror without the Evil Queen.
The stage eventually cracks and breaks to reveal even more villains.
We see the silhouette of Ursula from The Little Mermaid
Around the stage, other silhouettes appear of some of Disney’s most wicked evildoers.
One of the hosts of the show is Cruella de Vil…she’s delightfully campy.
Captain Hook serves as another host of the show.
Maleficent also takes to the stage to tell her side of the story.
You’ll see plenty of other villains pleading their cases, too, including Hades…
…Jafar, and more!
We also loved the music. The songs are the classic villains songs you know and love, but they’re new arrangements, so you get something familiar and new. Plus there’s an original song, too! We particularly loved hearing Maleficent singing a minor key arrangement of Once Upon A Dream.
So what did we think? It’s a SUPER fun show and everything in it is MAGIC. Although we have to say the beginning was a bit confusing because the story moves so fast, but at the same time, we were also on the edge of our seat through the whole thing. This will greatly please fans of Disney villains.
But wait, there’s plenty more Disney news where this came from! Be sure to check back with us at Disney Food Blog as we bring you along for the show’s opening day, crowds, and more.

Meh !
Super excited to see this. Thank you for sharing
I was looking forward to this new villains show, but that changed the moment I read the songs were given new arrangements. Why can’t the current imagineers leave some things alone! They did that to Country Bears Jamboree in MK, changed the songs and the arrangements, and now that show is a no go for me. It’s totally ruined! Sounds like this new villains show will be a one and done for me. So sad.
I saw a video of it on YouTube, and honestly I was underwhelmed. After everything they said about it, it felt like they phoned it in. I love Disney, but they really need to step up their game in terms of entertainment.
I hope we’ll be able to give it a try. Our plans had to change and now our next trip timing is TBD. I have a theory that this show will be relatively short-lived, and eventually, a Muppets-themed show will go in here as a companion to (or a replacement Muppet attraction in the case of unsuccessful Muppet re-theming of) Rock ‘N Roller Coaster. Disney has known that Villains were rich storytelling ground for a long time, which has been demonstrated through a variety of shops, events, shows, and attractions across their properties and cruises. Glad to see Disney leaning in here a little more (again), and keeping the focus on the classics. Maybe if this show is successful long term they can move it or a version of it to the new land in MK.
The Disney bloggers I listen to all pretty much panned the show. But they are not known to be Pixie-Dusters but more realistic. When Disney does something wrong, they are not afraid to say so. They certainly don’t applaud all the bad decisions Disney has made since COVID.
we saw the show when we were there June 7th… we thought it was cute. we esp loved the way they did the crocodile chasing Hook around the stage. While not the bestest best show ever, the tunes are catchy and it’s a great way to get out of the heat for a bit.. the line was long, but it moved fairly quickly, and there’s an ice cream stand right outside so you can enjoy a cold snack while in line.. (it was HOT that day…) It was just my husband and myself that day, but we think our grandkids would really enjoy the show
It was boring
