Universal Studios Florida
Epic Universe has finally opened, Halloween Horror Nights is getting closer and closer, and one staple attraction is set to close. Change is always hard, but now we finally know when to brace for impact. Universal has finally confirmed the closing date for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and we’ve got the details here.
If you’re a huge coaster fan, you’ve probably ridden Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida. This coaster allows you to choose your own music to rock out to as it takes you over, under, and upside down on this crazy ride.

This attraction opened originally in 2009 and has seen some changes over the years. We’ve known for a while that this classic attraction wasn’t long for this world, but now Universal has confirmed that the attraction will close permanently on August 18th, 2025.

This is a bit of a surprise as Universal had previously confirmed the ride would close in early September 2025. We do know that the ride isn’t just closing, but it’s actually being demolished to make way for the new experience replacing it. Universal has yet to reveal what will be taking its place and has only shared that more details will be available later.

Rip Ride Rockit
We are eager to see what will replace this larger-than-life attraction, especially because it is really the only thrill ride in Universal Studios aside from Escape from Gringotts. (Which many would argue isn’t a major thrill.) You can be sure that we will update you as soon as we know more! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Universal news and updates.

Good riddance rip ride rocket. Your que was hot and long due to many stoppages and breakdowns. And last time I rode you my neck hurt for months. You used to be fun but I can’t say I’ll miss you.
