Amid ongoing political tension in California, the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, issued a curfew for Downtown Los Angeles. The curfew started on June 10th and lasts from 8 PM to 6 AM.

This curfew comes as protestors and law enforcement continue to clash over Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. Mayor Bass stated that officers from police and sheriffs departments from across the state are working alongside LAPD through a unified command structure. As the situation continues, who is impacted by the new curfew? Here’s what we know.
At this time, the curfew will remain in place from 8 PM to 6 AM until lifted. Everyone in the area must abide by this curfew. The city of Los Angeles confirmed that limited exceptions apply, including for law enforcement, emergency and medical personnel, residents, people traveling to and from work, and credentialed media representatives.

The designated area is bounded by the 5, 10, and 110 freeways to the 110 freeway and the 10 freeway to where the 110 freeway and 5 freeway merge. It is important to note that the curfew is only in effect for a small portion of the city of Los Angeles — the gray map on the left represents the city of Los Angeles, while the green box is the section under curfew.

If you’re traveling to Disneyland Resort, you might be wondering if you will be affected by the curfew. So, where is the impacted zone in relation to Disneyland? Disneyland Resort is located in Anaheim, California, which is south of Los Angeles. Universal Studios Hollywood, while closer to Los Angeles, is also not part of the curfew zone.

This is obviously for out of towner’s that don’t know the area. Disneyland is 30 miles south of L.A., and L.A. has no jurisdiction in Anaheim. Anaheim is in Orange county and is practiclly another world compared to L.A. county, let alone the city of Los Angeles.
