With the opening of Epic Universe, plenty of people have been traveling to Orlando to experience Universal’s newest park. Since they’re already there, people have also been going to Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure as a part of their vacation.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure
Universal just announced a bunch of temporary ride closures coming to Islands of Adventure this year. If you’re planning a Universal trip for the summer or later on, you’re going to want to take note of these closure dates.
We knew a couple of attractions were going to go down for a little bit for some refurbishment. However, it looks like the closure list is expanding. There is a decent amount to do at Islands of Adventure to still keep you busy, but nobody likes when your vacation is impacted by closures.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure
There’s going to be a total of FIVE temporary closures at the park. Barring any changes or additions, that list includes:
- Dr Doom’s Fear Fall
- Dudley Do-Right’s RipSaw Falls
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
- Skull Island: Reign of Kong
- Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle

Doctor Doom’s Fearfall
Doctor Doom’s Fear Fall is scheduled to be closed from June 16 to June 20th, 2025. The ride is located in Marvel Super Hero Island and is a free-falling attraction themed after the iconic Marvel villain. It’ll only be closed for four days, so nothing too long. There are a few other attractions to do in the land like Spider-Man, Hulk, and Storm.

Dudley Do-Right’s RipSaw Falls
RipSaw Falls will be closed from October 6th to October 31st, 2025. The iconic water ride that’s bound to get you soaked will be closed for almost the whole month of October. Islands of Adventure offers two other water rides that you’ll have to go on instead of this one during that time. We’re talking about Popeye’s and Jurassic Park — which are both beloved rides.

Projection show on Hogwarts at Universal Orlando
We’re sorry, Harry Potter fans, but there are two closures around the popular franchise. The popular Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride located in Hogwarts Castle will be closed from November 3rd to November 16th, 2025. On top of that, the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle will also be temporarily closed. Although it wasn’t posted how long that will be closed for. It most likely is closed for as long as the ride is, considering they share the same building.

Skull Island: Reign of Kong
Skull Island: Reign of Kong is the last of the five attractions being closed, as it won’t be running from August 20th to August 29th, 2025. It seems like all these attractions will only be closed for a short period of time, and at different times — making planning a little easier.
