Attention popcorn bucket collectors: There are SEVERAL potential new additions to your Disney collection!
Over the last several years, popcorn buckets have become one of the in-demand Disney souvenirs, with buckets of all shapes and sizes available at the company’s theme parks, and special limited event items selling out quickly. The trend has also spread beyond the company’s resorts, with theater chains offering new collectible buckets for seemingly every major release — Disney and otherwise!
Disneyland 70th Popcorn Bucket
Let’s start at Disneyland, as the “Happiest Place on Earth” is currently celebrating its 70th Anniversary. As part of the festivities, this new light-up popcorn bucket is available at popcorn stands throughout the park, as well as select popcorn carts throughout California Adventure, The Coffee House at the Disneyland Hotel, and the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa’s Grand Californian Great Hall Cart.
Shaped like the iconic Mickey balloons many have grown up with, the bucket features a blue color scheme, lights, and images of Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Chip & Dale, and the park’s 70th logo. The bucket is available for $29, which includes the popcorn.
EPCOT Spaceship Earth Popcorn Bucket
Disneyland isn’t the only place you can get a special glow-in-the-dark Mickey balloon bucket, however. Across the country at Walt Disney World, guests can pick up a balloon-shaped popcorn bucket in honor of the iconic Spaceship Earth.
Textured like the park’s iconic weenie (which is a term Walt coined as a visual element that draws people to a space), this bucket features a changing light pattern similar to those displayed on the geodesic sphere at night. The bucket is available at the park and retails for $26, including popcorn.
Fantastic Four Popcorn Buckets
However, Disney’s parks aren’t the only place to find exclusive popcorn buckets in the next several weeks. To coincide with the release of Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated Fantastic Four: First Steps. Those seeing the film at AMC theaters can find a popcorn bucket (er, “Concession Vessel”) shaped like the titular group’s robotic assistant H.E.R.B.I.E….
… tins dedicated to the group — Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing — themselves…
…and even a bucket shaped like the head of the Eater of Worlds himself, Galactus!
If you’ve got an eye on any of these popcorn buckets, we’d recommend acting fast before they disappear! Stay tuned to DFB for more on limited and wide popcorn bucket releases!
