Magic Kingdom is BUSY right now, and we’re not talking about crowds. A lot is happening there. In Tomorrowland, Astro Orbiter just reopened after a refurbishment and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close soon for a huge update.
Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are also closing soon to be converted into a brand new Cars expansion in Frontierland, while Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is undergoing some massive upgrades. Behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a new Villains land is being constructed. Whew! Well, we’ve got some news about an attraction in Liberty Square that’s been closed for five months — Hall of Presidents has quietly reopened.
We arrived in Magic Kingdom this morning to learn that the Hall of Presidents had quietly reopened in Disney World. This is good news because this building has some of the best air conditioning in Magic Kingdom, and it’s a place to rest those weary feet.
Note that the lobby reopened previously for those wanting to check it out and get some much-needed cooling AC. We spent some time in the lobby, which includes portraits of U.S. Presidents…
…some history on the creation of the attraction…
…some personal Presidential artifacts, and more.
After every Presidential election in the U.S., the Hall of Presidents receives an updated animatronic to represent the current President, if a new one is elected. In this case, Disney just needed to reuse an existing animatronic, including a recorded performance of the oath of office by President Donald Trump. The current President’s animatronic is given the front-and-center position in the show.

Abraham Lincoln was voiced by Peter Renaday
So, yes, Hall of Presidents has reopened, so that’s one more indoor attraction you can enjoy in Disney World!

I love this attraction. Best rest stop in all of WDW – when the weather is tough or my body is aching. So happy it has reopened.
I’m pleased that THOP has finally reopened. We missed it during our May visit.
Glad to see it reopened as well as Astro Orbitor. We will be there on Aug 3 the day before Buzz shuts down. They could have done that refurb years ago but just preferred to let it decline.
This looks great on the video. Love this attraction. Did something change in the presentation is it the same as always?
I’m happy we have another attraction open. Especially a classic one that you can sit in the AC. I wonder why it took 5 months to re open. All they had to do was swap Trump and Biden as Trump already existed. Weird.
We were just there and so disappointed that it wasn’t open yet it’s one of our favorite attractions.
I’m so glad The Hall of Presidents has finally reopened! It was one of our favorites, and we were so disappointed that it was still closed in May when we were there last.
