Magic Kingdom has a new spot for getting fancy!

The park is currently changing in a lot of ways by updating Big Thunder Mountain, reimagining Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and adding two new major expansions! The park’s newest change might not be a major land change, but it still signals a long-awaited reopening. Let’s check it out!
Frontierland is going through some big updates! Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America are closing permanently on July 7th, 2025, changing the way this area has looked since the park opened in 1971. Big Thunder Mountain is also closed for refurbishment until 2026.

Luckily for us, Frontierland’s newest change is an opening and not a closing! Prairie Outpost is now open! This store was previously a candy shop, and it’s been closed since 2020. We had long assumed this store was abandoned until Disney confirmed the shop would reopen with some changes.

The new store sells hats and accessories like top hats, visors, sun hats, ball caps, fascinators, berets, and more! It’s located between Country Bear Jamboree and Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.

The new store offers 10% Annual Passholder Discounts and military discounts. Cast Member discounts and magical extras from stays at the Disney Springs resorts will get you 15% off!

They do not ship outside of the store here, but Chapel Hats at Disney Springs can and will ship for a fee.

The store also has accessories and pins that are magnetic to put on your hat so you don’t poke or damage it.

They also offer elastic bands to fit around the hat, feathers to decorate them, and even some jeweled bands that are themed to different attractions around Magic Kingdom.

If you want one of these fancy hats but don’t want to carry it around the park (or wear it), there’s a solution! You can make your purchase and then pick it up at the store later in the day; however, they do ask that you pick up your purchase at least 30 minutes prior to the park closing.

There are tons of designs, colors, and options for anyone looking to add some flair to their outfit or just protect their heads from the sun!

Thank goodness they give AP and Cast discounts cuz God knows they are going to be pretty expensive…like all the rest of their junk.
Really doesn’t give off a Frontierland vibe. Very sterile.
