I travel almost full-time for my job, and I’m constantly looking for clothes to add to my packing rotation.
“Inflate the vest by pulling down on the red tabs.”
I opt for clothing in solid, neutral colors that can layer well depending on the weather. I also want my travel wardrobe to be easy to clean — no dry clean only or hang to dry pieces, please. I recently stumbled on a dress at Walmart that meets all my requirements, and yes — I went back and bought it in every color!

I’ve worn this dress through:
- Oppressive heat at Disney World
- A 5-hour airport delay
- Several domestic flights
It’s as comfy as a tank and joggers but looks so much more put together. I haven’t had any problem with it wrinkling, and it has washed up great.
Why it’s my go-to:
- Machine washable and dryer safe (on low!) — and it comes out looking brand new every time.
- Lightweight, breathable, and wrinkle-resistant — it packs like a dream.
- Easy to dress up or down — throw on a blazer, cardigan, or pashmina for the plane.
- Pairs with sneakers, sandals, or slides — whether you need a good walking shoe or something dressy, this works.
- It has pockets. Say less.
- Available in solid, neutral colors — perfect for mixing and matching, or adding a pop of color with accessories.
And I’m no fashion maven so you may disagree, but I think this dress looks way more expensive than it is. It honestly reminds me of some of my favorite travel pieces from Eileen Fisher and J.Crew — but without the triple-digit price tag.
I recently wore the black version of this dress to the new adults-only lounge in EPCOT, GEO-82.
The straps here are wide, so it’s easy to wear a “normal” bra with it, and the skirt is lined. I’m wearing it in an XL — and I would say the fit is pretty true to size. If you’re between sizes, though, I would go down, because the fit is forgiving.
It’s the kind of dress you’ll reach for again and again — whether you’re heading out the door at home or hopping a plane. So yes… I bought it in every color. And I’m not even sorry.

I live time n Tru brand!! But I much prefer the straight Sheath dress
No gathered no high waist and the material is
95%polyester with 5% spandex. Love the knee length so it’s not so long and I love the black soot color I have 10 in black and rotate them from old to new
Time n tru brand is amazing and the dress is under $10. And sometimes on sale for $7. Less than my husband spends on a pack of cigarettes!

I only bought it because it was close to my size and on clearance for $4.00! Not a budget breaker and not considered a splurge either!
The only color available for me was turquoise.
I have enjoyed wearing it for coming and going paired with flipflop sandals, and boots(I live in the Midwest so boots are always in style and always fitting.).
It is comfy, adjustable for any occasion, easy to accessorize, and the pockets are a wonderful luxury on my $4.00 dress.
