When it comes to dining at Disneyland you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? They’ve got plenty of options! Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that’s available too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, no problem there.
We recently stopped by Shawarma Palace in Disney California Adventure to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here!
Atmosphere
The Avengers have asked the folks from their favorite “shawarma joint” in NYC to fulfill everyone’s cravings by opening a second location on Avengers Campus!
This is a food cart, so there’s very little seating around. You’ll want to take your food and sit on a bench or curb nearby, which feels more authentic to New York in our eyes!
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
Shawarma-inspired snacks feature “New York’s Tastiest” warm chicken wrap with garlic and tahini sauces, and a vegetarian Impossible Victory Falafel. And for breakfast, the Impossible Breakfast Sha-warm-up has been discontinued and now the Denver Breakfast Shawarma is available.
While we’ve tried both lunch options before, we figured it was time for an updated review to see if anything had changed. Without further ado, onto the food!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the New York’s Tastiest for $14.49 . This is a Chicken Shawarma Wrap with Garlic Tahini, served with Fresh Vegetables and Cucumber Tzatziki Sauce. This is served with some vegetables (aka a super small salad) as well as Tzatziki Sauce. There was supposed to be some garlic tahini on it, but we didn’t taste it at all. Without the Tzatziki Sauce, the wrap would be extremely dry, and the chicken itself has a weird grainy texture to it that was pretty off putting to us, and it was pretty dry and bland. However, the little side salad it came with was very tasty — the dressing is delicious and has a sour vinaigrette taste. Unfortunately the lettuce was very wilted, which made this meal very disappointing overall.
We also got the Plant-Based Impossible’™ Victory Falafel which is Falafel and Cauliflower with Garlic-Hummus Spread in a Pita Wrap, served with Plant-based Yogurt Tahini Sauce for $14.49.
The Tzatziki Sauce is definitely needed for this wrap because without it, it would be very dry. We love the taste of the cauliflower, but they are a bit too mushy for our liking. The Impossible Falafel, however, is very tasty — they’re soft and moist and spiced very well! It has a little kick to it, but not unpleasant or unbearable. We do need to point out that the menu stated that it would have a garlic-hummus spread, but ours did not come with it.Beware too that the longer it sits, the bread tends to get dry. Overall, it’s not anything that will blow your socks off, but it’s a decent.
Nosh or Not
This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You’re looking for a good plant-based option
- You’re a big Marvel fan
- You need something easy for on-the-go
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You’re looking for a meal that will impress you
- You want to be able to sit down, especially indoors
- You’re not interested in Marvel
Overall
This stand has the ability to be really good, but it’s just not! The plant based wrap was by far better than the chicken wrap, but everything just looks tired and old, the chicken is dry and the salad is wilted. We had them around 1:30, and since the cart doesn’t open until 11, we thought they should be fresher than they were.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!

I disagree with DFB on this one. I love the chicken Shawarma. Although I do agree it can be dry sometimes.
Falafel is vegetarian so it just makes me wonder why they need to go to a company that specializes in fake meat to make it. Makes you wonder what they did put in it if not the normal vegetarian ingredients.
