If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, you’ve probably already looked at the long list of prohibited items in the parks.
This comes in handy when you start packing for your trip, as well as when you start putting together your day bag of park essentials. You’re probably aware you can’t bring in things like weapons, drones, selfie sticks, and things like that. But there are some things that you absolutely can bring into the park that you might think go against the rules, so let’s talk about that.
Outside food and drinks
Believe it or not, you can bring outside food and drinks into the parks. However, there are some restrictions: you can’t bring items in glass jars, unless it’s baby food (baby food is okay). Also, alcoholic beverages are prohibited, so you can’t bring those in either. Wine may be brought to select Disney Springs restaurants, but corkage fees will be charged. You’ll want to check with the restaurant before you try and bring a bottle in.
However, things like snacks, sodas, water, and other food and drink items can be brought into the parks. So don’t panic if you’ve got kids that need snacks throughout the day — just bring them with you. You’ll also save money by bringing your own food and drinks.
Double strollers
You may think that double strollers are against the rules, but they aren’t as long as they fit certain size requirements. If the stroller is less than 31 inches in width and 52 inches in length, it is okay to bring into the park. However, stroller wagons are not allowed.
If you do plan on bringing a stroller into the parks, make sure you are familiar with stroller rules in the park, including where you can’t take them (on escalators). You also have to take your children out of strollers when riding parking trams. Also, familiarize yourself with stroller parking throughout the park you’re visiting.
Coolers
Another item you might think is on the prohibited list are coolers, but you can bring a small cooler into the parks, even if it’s on wheels. Just make sure it’s less than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high. This goes for all suitcases and bags, too.
However, there are very specific rules about ice in that cooler, so we’ll get into that, too.
Ice
Okay, let’s talk about ice. One thing you cannot do is fill up your cooler with ice from your hotel’s ice machine and bring it into the parks. Loose ice is not allowed. However, you can bring ice in a bottle or resealable bag.
Animals
No, you can’t just bring your pet into Disney World, although there is a pet care facility if you need your pet cared for while you’re there. However, if you have a trained service animal, that animal is allowed in the parks. Note that there are specific rules, though, for your service animal.
Disney defines a service animal in its policies as a trained dog or miniature horse. They must be on a leash at all times, must be housebroken, and may not be allowed on all rides. Service animals are also not allowed in water, including in water fountains water features.
You might be surprised at what you can bring to Disney World, but as always, be sure to look over that list of prohibited items to make sure you’re not breaking the rules. You’ll find a full list on the Disney World website, but here are some things that are strictly prohibited: any weapons or toys that resemble weapons, fireworks, recreational vehicles, folding chairs, selfie sticks, and more. Note that Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has specific rules that ban balloons and plastic straws.

We were at WDW beginning of June and there were many wagons. I always thought these were not allowed.
I’m surprised about the “even if the cooler is on wheels” thing. I didn’t think things you drag behind you were allowed.
Hi Beth! According to the Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules, coolers with or without wheels, must not be larger than 24′ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high. A small cooler would be fine.
See those ridiculous wagons all the time. Disney must choose not to enforce that rule.
