Can you believe it is already time to start thinking about the holiday season? While it may not be quite time to start hanging up garland and decorating the Christmas tree (although no judgement if you have already started!), it is time to start planning your Disney World trip!
Disney recently revealed a BUNCH of details about the holiday season at Disney World, including information about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Let’s take a look at EVERYTHING that Disney has confirmed for this year’s Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Event Details
First up, let’s start with the basics! Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed event that happens on select nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The event nights for this year’s Jollywood Nights are:
- November 8th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th
- December 1st, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th, 22nd
The event officially runs from 7:30 PM until 12:30 AM. However, with an event ticket, you can enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios as early as 5:30 PM, so you can get two full hours of fun in before the party even starts. Then you have five hours of party time to enjoy all the special offerings!
Tickets will go on sale for guests staying at select Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green on July 16th. All other guests will be able to purchase tickets beginning July 22nd. Let’s take a look at the entertainment that has been confirmed for this year’s event!
Entertainment
There is no shortage of entertainment during Jollywood Nights, that’s for sure! Disney has confirmed that quite a bit of the entertainment will be returning to this year’s event. “Glisten!” will be making its return! This ice-skating show, located in front of the Chinese Theater, features world-class skaters performing to holiday music. The skaters are incredibly talented, twirling and skating their way around the rink with projections on the Chinese Theater.
“Disney Holidays in Hollywood,” starring Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy at the Theater of the Stars, will return. This show features lots of beloved Disney characters, including Belle, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Tiana. You will enjoy singing, dancing, lots of antics, and a live band.
“What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along” will also be returning this year. You can catch this show at the Hyperion Theater, where you’ll join Jack Skellington for a “dreamlike adventure inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” If you have ever wanted to sing along to The Nightmare Before Christmas, this is your chance!
If you are looking for a glamorous experience at Jollywood Nights, make sure you head over to the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club. The Hollywood Tower Hotel’s courtyard is transformed into a 1930s-style jazz lounge where you can enjoy live music and cocktails.
We have seen the Holiday Fiesta en la Calle in previous years, but this year it is moving over to the Coaster Courtyard on Sunset Boulevard. This event is a Latin-inspired street fair with Latin holiday music, food, and drink inspired by Latin holiday flavors, and the chance to meet José Carioca, Panchito, and Miguel. Miguel is a NEW addition to this year’s event!
Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby is also back! This is an exclusive “party within a party” that takes place at The Hollywood Brown Derby. It is a limited-capacity event, so we highly recommend making reservations if you are hoping to attend. Inside, you will find holiday music and old Hollywood vibes, plus craft cocktails and snacks available for purchase.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will also be returning to the event. This nighttime spectacular features fireworks, lasers, projections, and holiday music. You can catch the show at 10 PM on party nights, and it lasts about 14 minutes. It is a great way to celebrate the night with a BANG!
There will also be LOTS of character meet-and-greets at the party; let’s take a look at the characters Disney has confirmed.
Character Meet & Greets
Jollywood Nights will have MORE than 20 classic and rarely seen characters throughout Hollywood Studios. This event really does kick it out of the park when it comes to characters! Here are the characters that have been confirmed so far:
Season’s Greetings at Echo Lake
- Phineas and Ferb
- Max Goof as Powerline
- Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers
- Stitch dressed as Santa
- Baloo and King Louie
Pixar Plaza Friends
- Mike Wazowski
- Edna Mode
- Frozone
- Joy from Inside Out
Near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- José Carioca and Panchito from The Three Caballeros
- Miguel from Coco
In previous years, we have also spotted characters like Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Sadness, Santa Duffy, and MORE.
You can also head to select attractions at Hollywood Studios during the event!
Attractions
On top of everything else, you can also take advantage of shorter wait times on select attractions in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In between the holiday festivities, you can visit some Disney Villains, rock out to Aerosmith, and more. While the available attractions are subject to change, here are the attractions that Disney is anticipating being open during Jollywood Nights:
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
- Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After
- The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- Slinky Dog Dash
Now, let’s take a look at the exclusive merchandise that will be coming to the event.
Merchandise
The event also features exclusive merchandise just for party attendees! This year’s event will feature a NEW Spirit Jersey (take a peek at it below!), as well as other new Ollie merchandise. Ollie is the adorable gingerbread man that has appeared throughout the event in past years, and you can spot him on the bottom of the spirit jersey. We can’t wait to see what other merchandise Disney is cooking up for us this year!
Finally, we are taking a look at the food and drinks that will be available at the party!
Food and Drinks
To celebrate the evening, Disney also offers exclusive food and drinks available for purchase during the event. Disney hasn’t released a whole lot about the menus this year, but we do know that this year’s event will feature “a menu of new boutique bites and returning favorites.” Plus, it was announced that Backlot Express will be offering a specialty menu this year!
