A woman is claiming she was permanently injured in Disney World.
Just last month, a Disney World guest filed a lawsuit after getting injured at one of the park’s water parks, and now a similar lawsuit has been filed just over a month later.
According to WFTV 9, a California woman is suing The Walt Disney Company for $50K after being injured at Typhoon Lagoon. The lawsuit claims that back in 2023, she was in the wave pool and was hit with a massive wave that knocked her into the bottom of the pool, leaving her with permanent injuries.
She’s asking for $50,000 in damages.
Now here’s the thing — the wave pool here is NO JOKE. These waves are often WAY stronger than people expect them to be, and that’s where issues like this come into play. This is especially true for kiddos, and we 100% recommend them having life jackets on when in the wave pool, as well as any adults who aren’t as strong of swimmers.

Wow. I’m going to a water park and seeing this HUGE wave, I’m going to stand there and get hit and then claim injury.
My family and I went for our first water park at Disney on our last trip (it was our “get in free day because it’s your first day at the resort”. We watched videos (something I recommend everyone do before going to Disney so you can see what it’s all about, see the rides so there are no suprises.) We watched Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard beach and a friend recommended Typhoon (she used to work there and said it is more family/kid friendly.) Our 9-year-old daughter, who usually doesn’t do waves, got in and almost got knocked down. Yes, she was furthest from the huge wave but the waves were still big enough to knock you down. She got knocked down once but didn’t cry. Our 12-year-old son went up to the middle and got knocked down and under. Some people were right at the front! This pool is no joke and if you go and you get hurt because you aren’t watching yourself then that’s on you. Disney can’t be responsible for stupidity or those who do something they probably shouldn’t do.
