Disney has just announced a new transformation coming to Hollywood Studios, unveiling something that fans have been asking for for years. Get ready to hold onto your hats because Disney has finally listened!
Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat is coming back to Hollywood Studios!

Yes, please read that again. The hat is back.
Sorcerer’s Hat at Hollywood Studios
Back in the day, a giant Mickey Sorcerer Hat, from 2001 to 2015, served as the icon of Hollywood Studios. It was hard to miss when you walked in and saw it in front of the Chinese Theater (but of course, it was The Great Movie Ride back then).
Now, 10 years later, it’s coming back!

The hat is coming to “The Magic of Disney Animation,” a new transformation at Star Wars: Launch Bay. This new space will invite guests to experience the magic of Disney animation through drawing classes, a playground inspired by Mary Blair’s concept art from Alice in Wonderland, and watch portraits come to life before their eyes.

While all of that is amazing, it was really the hat that stole the show! The building will be topped with the iconic hat, just like the real building in California, “which will cast a spell of pixie dust.”
Back when Disney was starting to take down the hat!
Will it light up? Play a song? Will Mickey himself jump out of the top like a birthday cake? Okay, probably not the last one, but we’re excited to see what the pixie dust will be.
This new experience is scheduled for 2026, and we’re already starting to count down the days until we see the new hat. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more!

Darn! We thought your story would be about bringing the original big icon back….as it was in Eisner’s day! Disappointed. The hat at the new attraction is nice but does not evoke nearly the same feelings!
And we agree with Joseph. Bring back the Great Movie Ride! What the Disney corporation is doing to the park(s) is desecration!

I am very glad and [leased that they are bring the hat back. It was and is a true icon. I think they need to continue to expand the parks and the magic of WDW.
I’m excited for the BAH to come back just about ANYWHERE except where it was. I always thought they should have moved it outside the front gates, right by the water. It would have been a great spot for it.
So excited about the hat and a version of the animation experience coming back. I also agree with Joseph about the Great Movie Ride.
