We’ve had some GREAT meals at Summer House on the Lake and as one of the newest Disney Springs restaurants, it’s quickly made our shortlist of repeatable favorites. We love when they change up their menu for different meal times, and if the meal we enjoyed of the latest summer-time offerings was any indication, we were in for a real treat with the new changes to their brunch menu.

Summer House on the Lake

And now, onto the main event — the food!
Eats
To get our mouths watering, we grabbed the Jalapeño Cornbread for $13.95. This is served with honey butter in a hot skillet brought right to your table.

Jalapeño Cornbread
Alright — immediately our mouths were watering at the mere sight of this thing and we couldn’t get over its massive size! The cornbread in the skillet is served warm to the touch when it’s brought out, so you’ll want to be careful if you plan on relocating it around the table. As for how it tastes, well, it might as well literally melt in your mouth! It’s truly a masterpiece of sweet cornbread, similar to the ones served at Flame Tree Barbecue in Animal Kingdom, only a lot more moist and just folds right in with each bite.

Slice of cornbread
The jalapeño in the corn bread does add that extra spice, but it’s just enough to know it’s there and give a quick pop of flavor. The honey butter is spot on for flavor, and while it might sound like it’s a little too sweet when you spread it over the cornbread, you’ll just have to trust us until you try it for yourself that it’s not.

The honey butter instantly melts
Our first entree we picked up was Our Famous Giant Cinnamon Roll for $17.95. This is made with fresh blueberry swirl, candied lemon zest, house-made cream cheese frosting.

Our Famous Giant Cinnamon Roll
At first glance, this thing will look more like a full cake than a cinnamon roll, but we’re telling you it’s worth every penny. We’ll go ahead and caution you that you should plan to line up a few friends with you to tackle this gigantic cinnamon roll, but know that none of you will be leaving on an empty stomach.

The backside of the roll
It’s made of several pull-apart sections that look more like a flaky bread roll from the outside than a traditional cinnamon roll. It’s sitting in a shallow bed of fresh blueberry sauce that is partially soaked into the bottom of the rolls, and the toppings of blueberries and lemon zest cascade down around it with each section pulled out.

Pull-apart section
It’s soft, pillowy, and the creamy icing adds an interesting spin to what you might expect of it versus a traditional icing for a cinnamon roll. Truly, this is a spectacle and we had the best time digging into it and uncovering all of its flavor secrets!
For something with a different vibe, we picked up the Savory Pancake Tacos for $21.95. These come as a set of 3 made of three pancakes filled with scrambled eggs, cheddar, and maple sausage.

Savory Pancake Tacos
Admittedly, there’s just something intriguing about a “pancake taco” in the name, and instantly we knew we were in for a flavor journey! It was like having an entire breakfast platter of flavors at your fingertips in the best way. The sausage tasted like the kind you would expect to find as a pizza topping with a spiced flavor, while the creamy cheese and scrambled eggs lent a helping hand in softening the inside contents of the taco. As the name implies, the golden mini pancake serves as your traditional tortilla for the taco and was a fluffy, warm change to a flat corn or flour outer covering.

Scrambled eggs, cheese, and sausage
This breakfast taco really levels up though when you pour the maple syrup on top of the inside and fold it over to contain it against the eggs, cheese, and sausage. While we did have a choice of either this savory version or a sweet one made with mixed berries, we think we made a solid choice for this visit and are already planning a visit back to try out the sweet ones, too.
For dessert, we picked up the Cookie Butter Pie for $11.95. This is made of cookie butter, vanilla cheesecake mousse, and Biscoff® cookie crust.

Cookie Butter Pie
This dessert looked and smelled so good, it broke our hearts to cut into it when we had to! It was so aromatic and smelled just like a butter cookie tastes. It was wild to experience such a sweet and buttery flavor through smell, but when we picked up our first bite, we were instantly hooked!

A piece of the pie
The Biscoff cookie crust crumbles underneath the pie like a graham cracker crust’s consistency would, and the cheesecake mousse against the butter cookie flavors almost gives a hint of butterscotch to the taste. We’d highly recommend trying this one out while you can because Summer House on the Lake is known to switch up their pie flavors seasonally and we’d be remiss if you let this one pass you by on your next Disney World trip.
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You’re looking for a picturesque brunch spot at Disney World with even better food! We think that about sums up the entire experience you’ll have here, but it’s truly unmatched.
- You’re looking for more flavor out of traditional breakfast options served elsewhere at Disney World.
- You’re looking for exciting new offerings all the time! Summer House on the Lake is full of seasonal switches and menu shake-ups throughout the year. If you’re bored of the same menu, you won’t have to worry much about that here.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- Traditional brunch offerings are more your speed. Summer House on the Lake will indeed have those to offer here; however, their specialties really shine in the more adventurous eats on the menu.
- You’re not looking to spend time away from Disney World’s parks. If you’re hunting a brunch spot that’s not going to take you too far away from its theme parks where you’re worried about losing out on time for more rides, attractions, and entertainment, this might not be the best option for you to consider since it’s located at Disney Springs.
- You’re just not a breakfast person. If the idea of breakfast doesn’t appeal to you, and your flavor palate vibes more with lunch and dinner, no amount of compliments we can throw Summer House on the Lake’s brunch menu will likely change your mind (although we feel very similarly to their own lunch menu as we do their brunch offerings)!
Overall
These new menu offerings simply blew us away! We’re still talking about how great the food is here, days later, and already planning out repeat visits to share with our family and friends. If you’re looking for one of the best sleeper hits at Disney World for a brunch that you won’t require you to get your day started right as the sun comes up, this is a wonderful option to consider booking for your next trip.
