The Walt Disney Company is almost always changing!

Right now, the U.S. parks are changing a lot with the addition of the Disneyland Forward Project and major changes coming to Disney World, like the Magic Kingdom expansion. That’s why we like to do a weekly round-up of the biggest Disney news so you don’t miss a single thing! Let’s dive into the biggest news from this week.

When it comes to the Disney company, it can be a lot to keep up with. This week’s biggest Disney news is happening all in Orlando, starting off with the biggest drop that caught us all off guard!

New Hollywood Studios Attraction

The biggest surprise of the week is that Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a new attraction!

There are some major changes hitting, including one called The Magic of Disney Animation where you can explore and create, meet with characters, and once again learn to draw a few of your favorite Disney pals. This new attraction will be “a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.”

Inside, you’ll be able to interact and explore this take on the Disney Animation headquarters. You’ll see portraits come alive before your eyes and “pencil in some time to learn to draw your very own character sketch.” In addition to this new attraction, Disney is also adding the Drawn to Wonderland playground! It’s going to feature an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area,” based on the original concept art of Alice in Wonderland by Mary Blair.

Disney confirmed that these new attractions will be included in a complete transformation of the Animation Courtyard, which will turn into The Walt Disney Studios. The newly reimagined Little Mermaid show will remain, but the Disney Junior Play and Dance will be reimagined for the new area, which is expected to open in 2026.

Attractions Permanently Closing

Disney is really living in an “out with the old, in with the new” era, right now! When a new attraction comes, an old one must go so in addition to the new attractions in Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Launch Bay, along with the Animation Courtyard, will be closing forever. 

Star Wars: Launch Bay houses three Star Wars meet and greets, along with movie memorabilia and photo ops. While we are very excited for the new attractions, we are selfishly really hoping Darth Vader finds a new home for meet and greets in the park. This attraction, along with Animation Courtyard, is closing forever on September 25th, 2025.

New Disney World Restaurant

Finally, wrapping up our big three news, a new restaurant has opened in Disney World! The much-anticipated Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina soft opened on July 24th, 2025. 

The new restaurant replaced Shula’s Steakhouse in Disney’s Dolphin Hotel, and we were blown away! The new restaurant features a dark, sophisticated interior that makes the entire restaurant feel perfect for a special occasion.

The restaurant features an extensive drink list that includes items like the Our Famous Martini and the Blueberry Martini.

As far as food goes, you can expect to find premium steaks, seafood, as well as items like the Main Lobster Pot Pie! We also tried several desserts and sides during our stop by the new restaurant.

This one will be perfect for special occasions or anyone looking for a truly incredible steak in Disney World.
