Okay, so we’ve already told about AJ’s new book, Disney Adults: Exploring (and Falling in Love with) a Magical Subculture. We’ve told you all about the book’s big launch event, but we’ve got something else really special coming to Disney World to celebrate the book’s release.
Okay, are you ready? Because AJ has partnered with some Disney World restaurants to also bring you a Disney Adults food and drinks crawl with exclusive drinks created JUST for the book’s release! How awesome is that? And you can go on the crawl and enjoy these exclusive drinks from August 1st through August 31st. We’ve already done the hard part and reviewed all these special treats for you, so keep reading for more.
But first things first. You should TOTALLY pre-order a copy of Disney Adults ASAP. The book officially releases on August 5th, and you’ll WANT to have a copy on-hand. This book is a “fascinating and enlightening deep dive into the infamous Disney Adult community from the woman behind the popular website The Disney Food Blog,” so you can expect a lot of insight from AJ about what it means to be a Disney Adult and more.
Okay, let’s talk about this drinks crawl. The drinks on this crawl were exclusively created in partnership with a group of Disney World restaurants to celebrate the release of Disney Adults, which we don’t think has ever been done before. These limited-time treats will be available from August 1st through 31st, so you’ll want to get to Disney World ASAP to check them out!
First up, you’ll want to get your hands on the exclusive crawl map and menus. You can grab that here by signing up for the DFB newsletter. If you just want a list of the items available on the crawl, we’re dropping all the details and our reviews of the items below.
Disney Springs
Starting at Vivoli il Gelato, you can sip on The Tipsy Teacup for $10.75. This treat is a strawberry “affogato” with peach bellini prosecco in the center. Okay, this treat is so pretty that we didn’t even want to eat it, and we love the Disney Adults garnish. But we did…for science! It’s nice and bubbly, but also very light. You can taste both the peach and strawberry flavors beautifully, too. Although ours was made with strawberry, you can actually choose whatever gelato flavor you’d like. But we’re recommending the strawberry because it just SINGS with the peach.
The next stop is Raglan Road where you’ll be able to order the Wild Rosy. It’s made with Glendalough Wild Rose Gin, Rockeys Botanical Liqueur, homemade rosemary syrup, lemon Pellegrino, and Fever Tree premium tonic with a Disney Adults garnish for $16. For summer, you can get it for $10 until 3PM Monday through Friday. This is another beautiful cocktail with subtle floral tones and a hint of lemon that’s nice and smooth. It’s even almost kinda’ bubbly.
You’ll want to pop into Homecomin’ for the Disney Adults Blue Hooch, which is a special version of the Blue Hooch drink made with Blue Flame moonshine, lemon-infused moonshine, blue curacao, house-made simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and a splash of Sprite for $16. This one even comes with a Disney Adults coaster! First, the presentation of this drink is ON POINT. It feels so very tropical, and if you like a mixed drink that’s on the light and fruity side, this is FOR YOU. It’s like a vacation in a glass. Note that you can get this in the jumbo squeeze bottle for $22 and then a 22-oz. refill costs $16.
Over at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, you’ll want to grab the Disney Adults Refresher for $6.50, made with Blue raspberry Monin and a white cranberry juice water base. It’s got the perfect name because y’all, it’s SO refreshing and much lighter than the alcoholic drinks. It doesn’t taste super syrupy, and it has a nice sweetness balanced with a hint of tartness.
Even if you don’t fancy a game of bowling, you’ll want to stop into Splitsville Luxury Lanes to try the Big Wave Dave. It’s $16 and has Wheatley Vodka, grain alcohol, and blue raspberry. This drink tastes like the ocean, but not salty. Like the taste of the alcohol is barely there, and it’s got a bit of tartness like an alcoholic lemonade with a hint of blue raspberry. Also, it’s just FUN looking, right?
The BOATHOUSE is offering the Frozen Duck Duck Razz with a Disney Adults sticker on the sipper. And for one day only, on August 5th (yep, the book’s official release date), you can order the Mischief Mai Tai from Summer House on the Lake. It’s made with Wicked dolphin coconut rum, orgeat, blue curaçao, and lemon juice.
EPCOT
Finally, let’s head to EPCOT to La Cava del Tequila for the Disney Adults Margarita for $18. This is another gorgeous drink, and it’s made with Pantalones blanco tequila, Calenda mezcal, botanical aperitif, lime juice, a hint of blue curaçao, and cold foam on top. Yes, cold foam on a margarita!!! We like that there’s only a little blue curaçao, so it’s not super sweet. You also get the botanicals from the aperitif and the smoke from the mezcal on top. It’s SO SMOOTH.
Also, there’s a special Disney Adults design on the top of the cold foam! The cold foam is sweet and SO unique because we’ve never had it on an alcoholic drink before. Turns out it’s just as good on booze as it is on coffee!
This drink will launch on August 5th, so be sure to make a beeline for La Cava when you visit EPCOT to grab it.
We had so much fun getting to try these exclusive drinks and can’t wait for you to experience them for yourselves. The crawl officially ends on August 31st, so don’t miss out! AJ will be doing the full crawl LIVE on Stories on August 5th, so be sure to follow along on our Instagram page. And don’t forget to grab that copy of Disney Adults now!
