Heading to Disney World soon? You need to know this!

When it comes to Orlando’s Disney resort, there are a lot of changes going on right now. Classic rides are being refurbished, new lands are under construction, and now, we’ve spotted some more construction that might throw a wrench in your Disney plans.
If you’re staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you need to know about some construction happening around the resort! This classic Disney resort is getting some updates on its quick service that could impact your stay.
Contempo Cafe
The Contempo Cafe is located on the second floor of the resort, right next to Chef Mickey’s and the stores at the resort. At this spot, you can find a variety of options like sandwiches, salads, pastas, and amazing desserts. If you’re staying at this resort and want a quick snack or need a soda refill, this is the spot to go. Right now, the Contempo Cafe is under construction!
Dole Whip Cupcake Contempo Cafe
The resort’s quick-service is undergoing a refurbishment from July 28th, 2025, through mid-October. Refurbishment work will take place near the quick service between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM each day. Disney has warned guests that they may hear construction noise during this time.
New food at Contempo Cafe
Luckily, this won’t impact whether you can eat at the quick service, but it might not be the most comfortable dining experience. If you really need a good bite but want to avoid a noisy lunch, you can always use the mobile order feature at this restaurant and take it to go!

Disney hasn’t shared what the refurbishments will consist of, so we’re assuming it will just be some traditional TLC for the resort. We’re eager to see how the changes look, and we’re adding this to the long list of construction happening at Disney World right now. Contempo Cafe lost all relevancy when they discontinued the peanut butter pie dessert several years ago. I’d make a special trip there upon arriving at WDW to purchase several to enjoy throughout the visit. The venue is dead to me!
