Dining at Disney World is an experience that guests need to have when they visit the park!

Old Key West
We recently stopped by Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West Resort, a popular spot for brunch and dinner. What did we think? We’re giving you our full review here.
Atmosphere
The restaurant offers a great beach home vibe. You can feel it in the decorations, the music, the colors — it’s just very “homey”. We love the ambience of the restaurant, and you get a good view of the water beside the windows.

Olivia’s Cafe
Another thing we like is how easy it was to get to the restaurant. It’s located right by the front of the resort, so it takes no time to get there. The inside is warm and bright, and has some cool beach home/lake house decorations. There are both tables and booths here, which is nice, so you have options!

Olivia’s Cafe
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
Olivia’s Cafe offers dining throughout the day — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s a great spot at any time of the day, but we went during dinner. They offer some unique cocktails and some seafood-based appetizers. You can also get some popular dinner mains like the prime rib or buttermilk chicken.

Dinner menu!
Lots of the specialty cocktails looked delicious! For you wine lovers, they had lots of options.

Drink menu!
Olivia’s Cafe has some popular desserts as well, like the Bananas Foster or the Key Lime Pie (a fan favorite)!

Dessert menu!
They also have some post-dinner beverages like the Chocolate Martini or Irish Coffee. If you’re a fan of Joffrey’s, they’ve got that for you, too!

Drinks!
And now, onto the main event — the food!
Eats
First, we grabbed the Conch Fritters for $15. They were served with a key lime mustard. Off the first bite, the texture of the conch fritters surprised us. It looked like it had a hard, crunchy shell, but the whole thing was soft.

Conch Fritters!
Definitely dip them in the key lime mustard that’s provided. It gives them extra flavor, whereas by itself, it kind of just tastes a little fishy and bland. It’s not in a bad way; it’s just the sauce really adds to it.

You need to try these
The food came with complimentary bread, which had a very coconutty smell to it. Despite the smell, we didn’t feel like it had a strong coconut flavor. So, if you aren’t a big fan of coconut, you’d most likely still like this.

Here’s the bread!
The bread has a unique taste to it, unlike anything we’ve had before. It tasted like bread that was sweeter and had a tiny bit of a fruity taste to it. It was really good!

It was good!
Next, we grabbed the Slow-cooked Prime Rib* for $39. This was Prime Rib served with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Broccolini. The prime rib is really good, and again, it’s even better if you dip it in the sauce that’s provided. The prime rib was the perfect texture, with an even amount of chewy and firm at the same time. I got medium well, so it was pretty brown.

Prime Rib!
There were a few pretty fatty parts, but not that many. If you aren’t a fan of the fat parts, you can easily cut them off. Maybe we were just hungry, but surprisingly, the prime rib wasn’t that heavy. We finished it pretty quickly. That being said, it’s a solid meal, and it will fill you up.

It was so good!
The mashed potatoes were equally as amazing as the prime rib! They’re so soft and they’re salted perfectly, giving the potatoes an excellent flavor. The dish comes with a lot more broccolini than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The broccolini was very fresh, but we just found that they were pretty plain for the most part.

We need this again!
For dessert, we couldn’t resist Olivia’s Bananas Foster for $9! It was a dish served with Warm Banana Bread, Bananas Foster Sauce, and Vanilla Ice Cream. It was amazing! The ice cream had this crunchy caramel drizzle to it, and the bananas were caramelized.

Olivia’s Banana Foster!
The banana bread was so fresh and had some crunchiness to it because of the caramel. We also didn’t find that the banana bread was overly sweet. We would definitely get this again. To top it all off, it came with a couple of strawberries!

This was so good!
Drinks
To drink, we picked up the Cherry Bourbon Punch for $16.50. Make sure to stir this well, because the cocktail was a tad watered down on the first sip. We found the drink was sweeter than strong, but you still get that kick.

Turtle Krawl!
The more we drank it, the more we liked it. You could taste the fruitiness, and the cherry stands out a lot. The drink looks swampy, but don’t be fooled by its appearance. The Cast Member said it was fairly new and you won’t find it anywhere else on Disney property, outside of a couple of dining places.

It was good!
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- If you want a cute dining spot! The restaurant had a cute beach vibe to it, and its ambience is a nice one to eat in.
- You want something more budget-friendly! When at Disney, it’s always nice to save money when you can. We find this dining spot is a little easier on the wallet than others.
- You want an easy spot to get to! It was really easy to get here, so it’s a convenient spot in Disney World.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You want more options! If you really want to branch out and explore, the menu is more limited here than at other spots.
- You want something more “Disney”! When it comes to theming, the place is cute, but it’s not as Disney-themed or fancy as other spots.
Overall
Overall, we think this is a great family spot or a cute date spot! We think the place works a little better for breakfast, but we would go at any time. It’s a cute spot and definitely worth going to at some point, especially if you are staying at Old Key West!
