You might be walking right past some of the BEST Mexican food in all of Disney World.
No, really. If you’re sticking to the parks and skipping the resorts and Disney Springs, you’re missing out on some seriously incredible eats. We’re talking juicy carne asada, crispy birria tacos, creamy enchiladas, and mole that tastes like it came straight from abuela’s kitchen. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on three spots that may not be on your radar, but they absolutely should be: Rosa Mexicano at the Dolphin Hotel, Frontera Cocina at Disney Springs, and Maya Grill at Disney’s Coronado Springs.
Rosa Mexicano (Walt Disney World Dolphin)
Let’s kick things off at Rosa Mexicano, tucked inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. This place calls itself an “elevated fiesta dining experience,” and we get it. It’s colorful, it’s upbeat, and the menu is anything but average.
First up: let’s talk about the Birria Quesatacos. You get braised Angus beef brisket packed inside a crispy corn tortilla with Oaxaca cheese, onions, cilantro, and a side of consommé for dipping. The texture here is next-level. Crispy tortilla, baked cheese edges, juicy brisket, fresh cilantro—it all works. The consommé has a savory, onion-forward flavor with just the right amount of heat. Fair warning, though: this dish is a cilantro bomb. If you’re not a fan, ask if they can tone it down. And while the brisket could be a touch more tender, the flavor is on point.
Then we moved on to the Roasted Chicken Suizas Enchiladas, and honestly? This was the dish of the night. The tomatillo salsa verde is tangy and vibrant, the chicken is tender, the tortillas are soft, and the cheese and crema pull it all together into one dreamy bite. You can choose between Mexican or white rice on the side. We went with Mexican rice, and it was packed with roasted tomato, poblano pepper, and more of that cilantro. Again—cilantro haters, consider yourselves warned.
It’s not the cheapest meal on property, but it’s definitely not the most expensive either, and you’re getting real flavor in a fun setting just a short walk from EPCOT. Win-win.

Frontera Cocina (Disney Springs)
Over in Disney Springs, you’ll find Frontera Cocina, a bright and airy spot that just might become your go-to for Mexican food outside the parks. It’s helmed by celebrity chef Rick Bayless, and it shows. There’s a lot of love put into the food here.
We started with the Queso Fundido. It’s a skillet of melted Queso Chihuahua with roasted poblanos and caramelized onions, served with warm corn tortillas. The cheese blend hits that perfect balance of sharp and creamy. The poblanos bring in some depth, and there’s a red tomatillo salsa on the side that packs a smoky punch. It’s rich, it’s shareable, and it sets the tone for what’s to come.
Next up was the Carne Asada. Pricey? Yes. But you’re getting a seriously generous portion of garlic and red chile-marinated steak, plus black bean refritos, sweet caramelized plantains, tomatillo salsa, and fresh corn tortillas. The steak had that flame-grilled, smoky char we love, and while there was more fat than we’d prefer, the flavor made up for it. Our sides were a little sticky texture-wise, but they tasted like something straight out of a home kitchen. Bonus: the pickled onions and fresh herbs on top add a little freshness that balances the richness of the dish.
Finally, the Creamy Chicken Enchiladas Suiza were a hit. Just-made corn tortillas filled with chicken and poblano peppers, all smothered in a tomatillo cream sauce and topped with melty cheese and cilantro. There’s a bit of heat that sneaks up on you, so spice-sensitive folks might want to pace themselves. But if you love bold flavors and creamy textures, this one’s a must.
Frontera Cocina nails it when it comes to authentic Mexican flavors in a polished setting. It’s not overly fancy, but the food feels thoughtful, and the portions are hearty. Definitely worth a stop.

Maya Grill (Disney’s Coronado Springs)
Maya Grill flies a bit under the radar, but that’s kind of its charm. Located at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, this spot leans into a more moody, romantic vibe. Think high ceilings, warm tones, and a live guitarist setting the scene.
The Chicken Mole was our standout. This dish comes with pan-seared marinated chicken in a smoky, spicy Oaxaca mole, served with roasted cauliflower and broccolini. The mole sauce was deep, earthy, and just a little sweet—like a barbecue sauce with layers. The veggies added some crunch and freshness that balanced out the richness of the mole, and the pickled onions were an unexpected pop of brightness. If you’ve never tried mole before, this is a great intro dish.
We couldn’t leave without trying the Fried Baby Churros. These are bite-sized churros served with dulce de leche ice cream and caramel sauce. They were crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and just the right amount of sweet. It’s a small portion, but definitely shareable if you’re not looking to go into full sugar overload.
That said, Maya Grill won’t be for everyone. The food is solid, but a little more rustic. The pacing of service is slower, so if you’re in a rush, this probably isn’t the place. But if you’re looking for a quieter, date-night-style experience with flavors that feel a little more traditional, it’s a great pick.

Final Thoughts
Listen, we get it—when you think Mexican food in Disney World, your brain might immediately go to EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion. And yes, that spot has its moments. But if you’re willing to venture out a bit, there’s a whole other level of flavor waiting for you.
Rosa Mexicano is bold and festive. Frontera Cocina is polished and full of flavor. Maya Grill is cozy and classic. Each brings something different to the table, and they all deserve a spot on your Disney food radar. So next time you’re planning your meals, consider hopping on a bus or boat to one of these spots. You might just find your new favorite taco outside the parks.

We love Rosa’s and Frontera but Maya is a hard pass. My wife is a vegetarian and they cannot accommodate her. We live 1.5 hours from Disney so we go often and almost always eat at one of those places if not both.
I like Maya Grill. I’ve only been once but it was very relaxing compared to many other Disney restaurants.
