Stop everything! There’s a new cake slice at The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk that’s only around for a limited time!
This spot is great for special occasions, as it is pretty expensive, but we have to admit — these treats are GOOD! We’re rarely disappointed here, and as it turns out, this new cake is one of the best we’ve had, and we think EVERYONE should try it!
The newest addition to the menu is the Southern Style Caramel Cake is available for $22 a slice. This may be our favorite cake we’ve ever had from here, according to our reporter, who usually tries the cake slices here. We loved that it’s more of a crumb cake texture. While that does mean it’s not as moist as others, we think it makes it different in a really great way.
The cake has notes of vanilla, maple, and caramel, and the caramel frosting makes the whole cake rich without being too heavy, which is impressive. It was just heavenly! Unless you know you’re not a fan of caramel or cake in general, we think this is great for everyone to try — a real crowd winner, if you ask us!
We’re not quite sure how long this will be around, but we do know it’s available for a limited time, so we recommend grabbing it sooner rather than later to be on the safe side. We’re expecting it to be here for the fall, but once winter hits, new flavors might take its place.

Huh-uh. Not going to support this pricing, no matter how good.
Not for 22 bucks
There is no way I’m spending 22.00 on a piece of cake, no matter how good it is
Just tried Cake Bake for the first time, this past week. Once I got pass the price of the cake I found it to be really good. We had the millionaire’s cake. However, I don’t know how often we will go back. The cake was good but I wouldn’t call it great. I found the buttercream to be a little firm and had the consistency of warmed butter. The cake itself was delicious though. What I didn’t like was after paying $22 and $7 a piece for a smallish chocolate chip cookie, I was then asked to pay $1.99 for a bag. My options where to carry this box with the cake and the bag of cookies or buy the bag. We were getting on the Skyliner and riding it back to our car which was at Pop Century, where we stayed the night before. I felt like we had to buy the bag in order to safely transport our expensive bakery items we just purchased. Then on top of that they solicited me for a tip. Now, I have been in the hospitality industry my whole life. I own restaurants. If I am paying $22 for a slice of cake why is the establishment not paying these people enough money so I do not have to tip and I can’t get a bag to carry my $22 slice of cake unless I purchase it?? I understand rent is high, cost of goods, etc. but pay your employees and don’t nickel and dime your customers to death.
Can you just order cake to go or do you need a reservation to order cake?
Hi Tammy! Yes, you can order cake to go from the bakery section of The Cake Bake Shop without a reservation. However, a reservation is required for a sit-down meal at the full-service restaurant part of the shop.
No way, no how. There is no way this place is that good. I’ve had amazing desserts in high end restaurants here and in other countries that aren’t close to that price. And 1.99 for a bag to carry it. If I’m at Disney and want a huge piece of cake, I’ll go to Gideon’s. The cake is very good and the bag is free.
