Haunted Mansion Holiday is a popular overlay that takes place at the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Park. Each year, the attraction is transformed with a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay for the Halloween and Christmas seasons.
We always love seeing this overlay! In addition to themed decorations, pastry chefs also construct a themed gingerbread house to be displayed in the attraction. This year’s gingerbread house looks amazing, and we just got a behind-the-scenes look at the construction process.
Disney just released TWO videos giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the gingerbread display inside the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction. We started by getting a peek at the house and meeting all the crows that call this display home their own. Gary the crow led a roll “caw-ll” for all the crows that included Edgar, Russel, Kim, Tippi, Rolly, CAW-rol, Blaine, Marc, Cheryl, Allen, Alfred, and Lewis. That is 13 crows in total!

We also got the chance to meet Chef Jasmine, who is the Head Baker Lead at Central Bakery. She introduced us to this year’s display, which is called The Murder Most Fowl. The display required 200 pounds of gingerbread dough to make it come to life.
Chef Jasmine went over some of the details of the house, including the shingles that are shaped like coffins and feathers. Fun fact, there are OVER 400 shingles on the gingerbread house! The house also features filigree work on the sides that is reminiscent of the Haunted Mansion building. You can also find 13 hidden Mickeys on this display!
The gingerbread house stands 13 feet tall and took nine days and a team of eight pastry chefs to assemble. A LOT of work went into making this house look as good as it does, and we loved getting a behind the scenes look at the construction process!
You can check out Haunted Mansion Holiday through January 7th, 2026! The ride follows the story of Jack Skellington and The Nightmare Before Christmas instead of the traditional Haunted Mansion story. You will even get the chance to see this gingerbread house in person!

Why can’t they decorate the Haunted Mansion in Disney World for Halloween like they do in
California?
Congratulations to Jasmine the head baker. The Gingerbread house looks SPOOK-tacular.
