We go to the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival every single year, and we keep encountering the same problem.
No, it’s not that we want to spend all our money on delicious eats (though we do!) and it’s not that half the festival season has ridiculously hot weather (even though it does) — we’re talking about a problem we desperately want Disney to fix. The tables!
The main problem we encounter each year at the Food & Wine Festival is that there seems to be a lack of tables, at least when compared to the heavy crowds that the festival draws in. While it may not be a problem during the middle of the day, it’s definitely an issue during mealtimes, weekends, and the opening day of the festival.
Throughout World Showcase and near festival booths, you’ll often find black high-top tables for people to use after they order their festival eats. Since most of the festival items are small bites that are easy to eat, these tables are designed for festival goers to eat quickly and then keep walking.
However, during crowded times, we often find that there aren’t enough tables available. In many areas, there are 4-7 tables per booth, but some booths end up with only 2 or 3 available nearby. With hundreds or thousands of people in EPCOT rushing to eat dinner, it often means that there are some meals being eaten on top of trash cans or haphazardly while walking.
And if a high-top table isn’t convenient for you? The festival can be a bit of a struggle. Those with mobility difficulties or users of wheelchairs and ECVs might have an even harder time finding a table to use. Young children might not be tall enough to reach the table, as well.
Now, we do want to say here that we noticed MORE tables this year, and we appreciate it. We heard that about 70 NEW tables were added. But we STILL had problems finding an open one during the busy afternoon. And don’t even get us started on the table locations! They’re not always in the shadiest spots, because Disney has to make sure to keep them out of the walkway. You might be standing directly in the sun next to World Showcase lagoon — hot AND humid.
But don’t worry — as festival experts (we go every year, multiple times a week throughout the festival), we know where the best tables are located. In the Germany Pavilion, there’s a nice seating area with picnic tables and benches that usually has plenty of spots open.
The Morocco Pavilion often has better seating options, since Tangierine Cafe is indoors and has air conditioning. Japan also has a plethora of outdoor seating near Katsura Grill, and the American Adventure has quite a few picnic tables in the shade.
If you’re up near the front of the park, World Celebration is the name of the game! This section of the park has a TON of seating and a plethora of tables behind Spaceship Earth and in CommuniCore Plaza.
So if you’re heading to the festival this year, make sure you’re prepared with your best walking shoes…and probably bring your own tray! Tables may be a challenge, but you can CONQUER THE FESTIVAL.

Garbage can tabletop dining is awesome! Adding to the problem, are people that just sit there after they’re done eating and see you with a tray of food and drinks looking for a spot. So rude !
