Labor Day Weekend has officially arrived in Disney World, and these holiday weekends are usually full of lots of high wait times and crowds.
We’ve been watching wait times over the past two days to see just what crowds are really looking like, but to our surprise, the actual crowds inside EPCOT were very different than what we expected. We were expecting to see crowds wall to wall, but instead…we’ve been left wondering WHERE everyone is?
We walked into EPCOT around 10:30 AM and were shocked to find that crowds were…essentially nonexistent.
We thought perhaps they were deeper in the park since it was past rope drop time, so we headed to the back of Spaceship Earth. As it turns out, this area of the park was…also pretty much empty.
Now, we will admit that there aren’t any rides in this area right now since Spaceship Earth is closed, and as we got closer to Creations Shop, which is pretty close to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we did start to see some more people.
Overall, we did spot some heavier crowds over near attractions, and we had a feeling a lot of folks were down in World Showcase preparing for the Food and Wine Festival booths to open, but even still, crowds felt way lighter than we expected.
It’s possible that these crowds are lighter due to the fact that many kids start back school right after Labor Day, and people use Labor Day as their travel day instead of being in the parks.

With so many attractions closed, all the construction, I’m thinking this will be a low attendance year.
We use to go every Labor Day because the crowds were small. Locals are having picnics or at the beach. Tourist have to get the kids back to school. Disney now has something going on like D23 to get more people here on the slow weekend. We miss those slow days when you could do everything you wanted.
Many locals have the Pixie Dust pass and Labor Day was blacked out so although we wanted to go we were out of luck
They may also be over at Destination D23.
