The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is HERE, and we were there on day ONE, doing all things and EATING all the things. But there was one thing we hadn’t done…at least until now.
This year, Disney World brought back the Parisian Breakfast at Chefs de France to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. And we haven’t been able to do that since 2019, so we decided to check it out to see if it’s still as good as we remember.
Atmosphere
Chefs de France is located in the France Pavilion. When we arrived, there was a long line to get in. We were hearing some people complaining about the experience because instead of having people staggered for reservations, the buffet just opened up to everyone at the same time, so it felt a little disorganized. This could be one of those opening day kinks that quickly gets worked out, though, so don’t let that deter you!
One thing to note is that an early breakfast reservation won’t get you into the park early, so you’ll have to enter the park when it opens and book it over to the France Pavilion to get to the restaurant when it opens for the breakfast buffet. Or you can use the Early Theme Park Entry hotel perk if that’s available to you.
Inside, there is plenty of seating, with tables and chairs. There are multiple dining spaces, including two sunrooms.
Some booth seating is also available.
Once your table is ready, you’ll be escorted through the dining room and past the buffet to your table. During our visit, this was a shared dining experience, so we shared a table with other people. That said, we were a party of one, so you may not have the same experience. One note to add: it can get loud in here.
The buffet is out in the open and has two different sides, but both have the same food. The buffet will be available during this time every Friday and Saturday from 9 AM through 10:30 AM.
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
So this is a buffet with a large selection of baguettes, breads, croissants, pastries, sliced meats, charcuterie, cheese, quiche, and more. You also get unlimited mimosas, fruit juices, and freshly brewed coffee. The cost is $64.95 per person.
And now, onto the main event — the food!
Eats
So this is more of a light bite buffet, but we will say the meats were great, although there aren’t a lot of options. The cheeses, though, well, they are the BEST here. The goat cheese (the little balls of cheese in the photo) is super savory and tart and SO creamy. It also spreads so easily over the bread.
The breads are also fantastic. The baguette we had was wonderful — toasted on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside, just like you would expect a good baguette to be.
However, we were a little disappointed with the croissants. They’re pretty basic. Just a simple buttery croissant. This is similar to what you’d find elsewhere, like at a grocery store. They don’t really taste like a house-made pastry either.
However, with that said, one of the best we had was the egg croissant, which had a really thin layer of scrambled eggs mixed into its center. It was buttery and crispy on the outside, and the layer of egg was just right, neither too thick nor too thin.
The quiche was very eggy, which is basically what quiche is billed as. We would have preferred more veggies in it, though. It also didn’t have a lot of flavor. The tomato and a little dollop of cream cheese on the top help, but not enough.
The seasonal fruits are nice and fresh. You get a good selection of strawberries, cantaloupe, melon, blueberries, and pineapple.
Overall, you don’t get a lot of hot foods. This is mostly cold selections, so keep that in mind.
Drinks
We obviously had to try the unlimited mimosas. Now these are pretty standard, a champagne with orange juice. It’s tart and it’s bubbly. We also loved that they met you at the door with a mimosa. NICE.
We were offered coffee when we got to the table. We ordered it black, but they’ll bring cream and sugar out for you.
It tastes like regular Joffrey’s coffee, but it was potent, so you might like to add that cream and sugar.
Nosh or Not
Book this special breakfast buffet if…
- You’re celebrating a special occasion. This buffet is a great way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or any other event.
- You want a “true” Parisian light bite breakfast. This is a traditional light Parisian breakfast with light bites and mostly cold food. Dining inside the beautiful Chefs de France also adds to that Parisian ambiance.
- Unlimited mimosas. If anything, you’re getting your money’s worth here just by indulging in unlimited coffee and mimosas.
You should skip this breakfast if…
- You don’t want a quick breakfast. This is a table service experience (albeit a buffet), so it will take a while to dine here. If you just want a quick French breakfast, head over to the nearby Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie instead.
- You don’t like eating with strangers. You may share a table with other people (or be seated close by), so if that’s not your thing, you might not want to book a breakfast here.
- You’re on a budget. $65 is a lot to spend on breakfast, so if you’re on a budget, you might want to save those $$$ and spend them at the food booths at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival instead.
Overall
In the past, we’ve really enjoyed this buffet, and it’s nice to see this option back in EPCOT. The food was pretty enjoyable, with some items better than others, but it is mostly cold food. It’s not the best breakfast buffet in Disney World, but it is one of the most unique and sophisticated.
This would make for a great special occasion breakfast or even a breakfast date with your closest friends, especially with the unlimited mimosas.

They used to let you into EPCOT early if you had a breakfast reservation. It sounds like they don’t do that anymore. Makes it hard to make a 9:00 reservation.
I remember attending this breakfast every year during the F&W festival. I am glad it is back in some way. For those attending, they begin seating at 9am, but with all of the folks coming in from International Gateway, there is a bit of a wait so don’t over worry. They will just hand you a mimosa and seat you. Be forewarned, they like to pour those mimosas!
Will they serve bottomless champagne if someone can’t drink OJ?
