If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, you’ve probably been thinking about where you want to eat. Between parks and resorts, finding the right spot to eat can be pretty difficult — that’s why we’re here to help you with that decision.

Old Key West Resort
We recently stopped by Turtle Shack Poolside Snacks at Old Key West to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here!
Atmosphere
This dining spot is a pool bar, sitting right next to one of the resort’s main pools. It has a cute pool bar theme to it and a lot to offer. You’ll have to find seating around the pool, which there are lots of, so you wouldn’t need to worry about that.

Turtle Shack Poolside Snacks!
The location allows for lots to do while you’re enjoying food, treats, or drinks. There’s a pool, a shuffleboard court, and a game room.
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
Don’t be fooled by what the dining spot’s called — it may have “snacks” in the name, but it has entree-level dishes. They have a charcuterie plate, pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, and more! They also have their fair share of snacks and treats, including cookies, fruit cups, and ice cream.

They also have lots of beverage options for kids and adults — including beer, cocktails, juices, frozen slushies, and more!

And now, onto the main event — the food!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Sunset Vegetable Wrap for $11.49. This was seasonal crisp vegetables, key lime vinaigrette, on a spinach tortilla. If you love all-vegetable-based dishes, this one is definitely for you. We feel like protein would have made this better and given it more flavor. That being said, this wasn’t bad.

Vegetable Wrap
There were a lot of vegetables in the wrap — carrots, soy beans, cabbage, and kale, to name some. It’s a fine choice for an all-veggie dish, but we probably wouldn’t get it again. It was a little soggy, and for the options on the menu, we think some are just more appealing.

This was fine!
We also wanted to try the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich for $12.79. We got ours with house-made chips as the side. This was a piece of fried chicken with melted cheese, a tomato, and lettuce on a brioche bun. That’s all that’s on it, you’re probably thinking that sounds dry, it 100% was!

Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich!
Ok, yes, it was very dry, but it really wasn’t that bad! We grabbed a couple of ketchup packets and threw them on the sandwich. It didn’t do much, but it made it better. The chicken tasted good, and the bun was great, but there was not a lot of flavor with this thing. You could not taste the cheese at all, which was disappointing! For its price, we don’t think it’s worth it, but you can’t expect too much from a poolside quick service spot. Overall, we really didn’t mind it; it just wasn’t amazing — maybe it was just ours.

It was very dry!
Drinks
To drink, we picked up the Piña Colada Slushy for $6.99. This was the best thing we got! Warning: drink it fast, because you’ll lose that slush texture sitting in the sun by the pool for too long. This was crazy refreshing and crazy tasty!

Frozen Piña Colada
The drink isn’t overly sweet, and it was very light. We probably could’ve had three of these without even noticing. Taste-wise, it tastes like any other Piña Colada, but frozen. Nothing crazy special, but it tasted great!

This was so good!
There was no way we were passing up the Turtle Krawl for $15.50. This had Siesta Key White Rum, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, and Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum with Grenadine, Pineapple, Orange, and Key Lime Juices. You can get this at Olivia’s Cafe at the same resort, so this drink isn’t exclusive to hear in case you want to try it.

Turtle Krawl
It’s a little bit sour, and as far as fruity alcoholic drinks go, you can taste the alcohol in this one. It may have been the orange and lime that made it sour, but it caught us by surprise. Interestingly enough, the drink gave us a grapefruit taste, even though it didn’t have any in it. It was a nice, refreshing cold drink, but the sour may catch some off guard.

It was a little sour
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- If you’re at the pool at Old Key West! To be honest, this is really the only reason you should go here. We don’t think it’s worth coming out of your way for.
- If you’re staying at the Old Key West! Same as our point with the pool, if you’re staying at the resort, it’s a nice spot with snacks and drinks you can check out.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You’re anywhere BUT Old Key West! This really isn’t worth the journey from any resort or park. It’s deep within the resort (we had to take a bus from the lobby area), and doesn’t have anything special.
- You want more food options! If you are at the resort, we would rather go to Olivia’s Cafe (which isn’t that pricey). It has more options and better food.
Overall
This place had good food and good drinks, but there is no reason for you to come here unless you’re at the resort, or really if you’re spending the day at the pool. There are so many food options across the Disney World Resort, it just wouldn’t be worth the time spent getting here. If you are at the resort, it’s definitely a cute and tasty spot, especially if you’re out for a pool day.

This was good!

Thanks for the review. You tried a couple things that looked interesting and we would have been disappointed as you were. I’m curious about the charcuterie board. Sounds good but an odd choice poolside? I doubt they can mess up the hotdog though not a healthy option. Wish I knew how the tuna salad sandwich was. Maybe review that next time bc it sounds good. We also love coleslaw and chips….so summery! I can vouch for the chicken Caesar salad. They’re everywhere at wdw and my ‘go to’ fave. Always delish. Enough for two! Same price everywhere btw. We sometimes stay at Old Key West or just want a boat ride from Disney Springs…. which is cooling and relaxing…. so thanks for the menu review bc sometimes things that sound or even look good really aren’t! At their prices, plus we hate wasting food, it’s good to know what really IS good!
