Disney Imagineers have always been on the forefront of technology. You can see some of the newest technological advances they’ve made in Disney Parks right now, like the cute little wandering robots in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Disney World (which are actually a super feat of engineering).
Or maybe you witnessed the giant Hulk meet and greet in Disneyland. We’re also still blown over by the rollerblading robot Imagineering has demonstrated a few times. Well, something else that Disney Imagineers have been working on is AI glasses — the very same glasses that Meta has developed with Ray-Ban.
Walt Disney Imagineering was an early partner in helping bring Meta’s AI glasses to life. In an announcement via LinkedIn, the company spoke about how it is always trying to create ever-more immersive stories and experiences. Disney also stated, “The use of Ray-Ban Meta glasses in our parks will help guests to remain fully present, augmenting the park, rather than distracting from it.” Consider us intrigued!
Does this mean we could see AR (augmented reality) Disney overlays in Magic Kingdom someday? Maybe we’ll be able to enjoy the infamous Cinderella Castle CAKE makeover without actually sacrificing the view of the normal Cinderella Castle. Glasses on? Cake Castle. Glasses off? Normal Cinderella Castle? Do you see the vision? Come on, Disney! Make this happen!

It was definitely a sight to behold!
Not only did Disney Imagineers help create these new AI glasses, but it seems like the company also has a plan on how to incorporate them into the parks in the future. But how? Meta AI glasses have open-ear speakers, hands-free camera capture, and an on-the-go AI assistant that’s voice-activated. Imagine how this could change your experience in the park. We can imagine that the AI assistant alone could get you instant access to ride wait times and even show you the quickest way to get around the parks — the possibilities are endless.
What really intrigues us is that the glasses also have AR functionality, which is something that could be incorporated into rides, shows, or even fireworks demonstrations, making them something TOTALLY next-level. There’s so much potential in this new tech that we’re sure Disney is already trying to figure out how to integrate the use of AI glasses in its parks. Disney Imagineering added, “We’re excited for the future opportunities this technology unlocks—and how it can inspire entirely new guest experiences.” We’re excited, too!
