Disney’s Hollywood Studios may be packed with some of the most popular rides in the world, but a few of its biggest attractions are starting to show signs of wear, and fans are taking notice, as are we.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of the most exciting parks at Disney World with thrill rides, fun themed dining, and excellent entertainment. But as the park continues to evolve, not every attraction feels as stable as it once did. Between looming refurbishments, skyrocketing wait times, and technical issues, there are a few rides that have us raising an eyebrow. Here are three attractions we’re starting to get a little worried about.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
The refurbishment of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is coming soon. Disney has officially announced that the ride will be rethemed in 2026 as Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. This means Aerosmith will be replaced by the Muppets’ Electric Mayhem band.

We are a bit worried this will feel more like a ride overlay than a true change of the attraction. The concept art featuring Electric Mayhem, Scooter, and Kermit in the studio showed that they will take over the studio part of the current queue. However, we have not heard or seen details of what the actual attraction will look like, and we can see Disney keeping most of the street signs the same. We would love to see more specific Muppets details, and maybe we will once we get closer.

Slinky Dog Dash
As one of the most family-friendly coasters in Disney World, Slinky Dog Dash already draws some of the longest lines in the park. We’re talking over an hour wait regularly. But when Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster goes down for an extended refurb, we could see those wait times climb even higher.

Toy Story Land
Lightning Lane reservations for Slinky Dog are already among the toughest to snag at Hollywood Studios, and with fewer thrill rides available, the demand may only get worse. Families should brace for even earlier Lightning Lane strategizing to lock in a ride on this Toy Story Land classic. We recommend grabbing this one as your Tier 1 for Hollywood Studios.

Rise of the Resistance
There’s no denying that Rise of the Resistance is still one of Disney’s most impressive rides, but lately, it hasn’t always been running at 100%. On recent visits, major show elements have not been working. From Kylo Ren’s animatronic being replaced with a screen, to the pre-show cutting out entirely, and even blaster effects that haven’t moved in ages.

Stormtroopers in Rise of the Resistance
While the ride is still epic even with some effects down, it’s hard not to worry about the long-term reliability of such a technically complex attraction. Fans are hopeful Disney will give it the TLC it deserves before it starts feeling less “immersive masterpiece” and more “half-working blockbuster.”

Poor maintenance at WDW has become a severe issue. The neglect of attractions combined with dilapidated and run-down infrastructure is appalling. Damaged paint and filthy conditions are widespread. Features on many rides haven’t worked properly for years. Even the brand new animatronic parrot at Beak and Barrel is already out of commission. Sadly WDW is no longer the premier experience Walt intended. This is what happens when bean -counters and lawyers take over. They couldn’t care less about the visitor experience, just maximizing rev ops.
Honestly, we never go to Hollywood Studios anymore! We loved it as MGM studios but all the rides, restaurants and attractions we loved are gone…as well as the sorcerer’s hat….and there’s nothing to attract us anymore. It’s not worth the time or money when there’s so much more to do elsewhere at wdw.
Have you noticed the terrible condition of the queue for TSM? Guests have defaced it and it looks really bad.
