Summer is officially over, and now it’s time for Fall in Disney World! That means Halloween-themed snacks, a Halloween party, and pumpkin and apples everywhere. It also means a few new procedures, changes, and experiences have started or will be coming soon.
Let’s take a look at these five new procedure and experience changes hitting the theme parks, so you can be prepared on your autumn trip to Disney World!
End of Cool Kid Summer
Cool Kid Summer officially ended on September 1st. That means LOTS of changes for the fall around Disney World. Here are a few things you can expect.
Magic Kingdom
Summertime dance parties at Storybook Circus and Rocket Tower Plaza Stage have both come to an end now that it’s fall in Disney World.
EPCOT
CommuniCore Hall
During the Cool Kid Summer event, GoofyCore took over CommuniCore at EPCOT. But now that this event is over, there’s, well, NOTHING happening inside here.
2025 Festival Favorites Food and Wine Festival Booth
For the Food and Wine Festival, you can stop by the Festival Favorites booth outside for some tasty snacks and yummy drinks. This festival goes through November 22nd. Then, when the Festival of the Holidays begins on November 28th, you’ll be able to meet SANTA at CommuniCore Hall!
This meet and greet used to take place at the Odyssey, but this coming year, you will be able to find it at CommuniCore Hall daily at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:30 PM, and 5:00 PM.
Phineas and Ferb
During Cool Kid Summer, Phineas and Ferb were meeting guests near the park entrance. However, now that the summer event is over, you likely won’t run into this duo here anymore.
Hollywood Studios
Animation Courtyard held fun games and crafts for kids this summer! However, those neat experiences are now over. More on Animation Courtyard below!
While a lot of the summer fun is ending, the two new musicals that just opened this summer — Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure — will continue to bring you exciting entertainment!
Animal Kingdom
Cool Kid Summer also brought some fun, unique activities to Animal Kingdom. Now that fall has arrived you can no longer find the following at this park:
- Cook Kid Summer adventures at Rafiki’s Planet Watch
- Unlock a special limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge
- A celebration sing-along at Discovery Island
Water Parks
Throughout the summer, both water parks — Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach — were open. Now that it’s fall, only Typhoon Lagoon is open, while Blizzard Beach has once again closed.
If you’re hoping to hit up a water park this fall, be aware that your only option is now Typhoon Lagoon.
Discounts Ending
A few great summer deals have now ended or will be ending soon. The following Disney World ticket and hotel deals are officially gone.
- 50% Off on Kids Tickets — Ended September 30th
- 3-Day, 3-Park Ticket — Ended September 22nd
- Disney+ subscriber hotel deal — Ended July 31st
- Florida Resident Summer Magic Tickets — Ended September 27th
You can still get up to 30% off on select hotel rooms until October 11th!
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away
Disney Starlight is a brand new nighttime parade in Magic Kingdom. The new parade debuted this summer, but if you’re hoping to catch it this fall, you’ll need to be aware of these new procedures.
While the parade is available several nights of the week, it is NOT available on nights that host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (and likely the nights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party). The nights it is available, you can see it at either 8:00 PM or 10:00 PM.
Currently, the only date in November that has times listed for the parade (as of September 25th) is November 1st. It’s likely more dates will eventually be added, but be prepared for the parade not to happen on the select nights that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is taking place.
Fantasmic! Hours
As the days get shorter and night falls sooner, the times Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios performs will be changing. Starting September 27th, the show will go down from two to one performance at 9:30 PM.
You might catch select days with an extra showing at 8:00 PM in November, but most days only offer one showing. Also in November, days that have the Jollywood Nights event will only show Fantasmic! at 6:30 PM. The moral of the story is: this fall, your “new procedure” is to check the My Disney Experience app for the showtimes of Fantasmic!
Rides and Attractions Closing
Expect LOTS of Construction Walls at Hollywood Studios
As of September 25th, Animation Courtyard has closed in Hollywood Studios. Along with it, the Star Wars Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play & Dance!.
Disney is revamping this area into The Walt Disney Studios. It will open in 2026 with new experiences such as The Magic of Disney Animation and the Drawn to Wonderland Playground.
Be prepared to see lots of construction walls in Hollywood Studios as Animation Courtyard becomes The Walt Disney Studios and Muppets Courtyard becomes Monsters, Inc. Land.
Another One Bites the Dust at Animal Kingdom
As of September 2nd, the Boneyard in DinoLand, U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom officially closed.
While you’re visiting DinoLand this fall, be sure to stop by Restaurantosaurus, its lounge, and the last remaining ride in DinoLand, Dinosaur while you have the chance. These, too, will be closing soon, in the coming months.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether Opens
The Tree of Life is getting a new show! Starting November 7th, you can see the 4D show Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
If you’re heading to Disney World in the next couple of months, be prepared for these changes. You’ll get to experience brand-new attractions or say good-bye to ones you love. Exciting things are happening at Disney World!
