There has been some sneaky construction happening in Disney World recently, but we are ON THE JOB.
We’ve been keeping an eye on several ongoing projects recently, from new lands to ride refurbishments and everything in between. But one particular project has been a little mysterious and intriguing — the construction currently happening in Toy Story Land. Now, we know that a new snack stand is coming!
A permit was just filed for construction in Toy Story Land recently, and you know what that permit is titled?! “DHS Toy Story Snack Kiosk!” That’s right, it looks like we could be getting a brand-new snack stand in Toy Story Land.
We’ve been watching construction near the Galaxy’s Edge-side entrance to Toy Story Land for several weeks now. Much of this space is covered in construction walls, and it has been difficult to make out what’s going on, but we’d heard rumors that there was a snack stand getting installed. Now, the permit seems to confirm our hopes, though there hasn’t been an official announcement from Disney yet.
This area of the land didn’t really have much going on before, except for some backstage entrances and themed foliage. Currently, the walls cover part of the Toy Story Land side as well as some space into Galaxy’s Edge. We’ll be interested to see if they include any seating for the snack stand.
Food in Toy Story Land has long been a hot topic. Woody’s Lunch Box is the only quick service spot here, and it’s beloved, but it has been rather difficult to find a seat there in the past, and Mobile Order windows fill up FAST due to its popularity. Roundup Rodeo BBQ opened in 2023 as the land’s only table service option, but it has received mixed reviews over time. The land hasn’t had a true snack stand, outside of some beverage and ice cream novelty carts.
The permit filed for the construction of a snack stand is a notice of commencement, with a goal to “install set elements” in the area. The contractor is Mecca Productions, Inc., which did some set and fabrication work for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as well.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this construction, and we’ll let you know if anything changes.

New (and just as importantly, more) food options are great, but what this area really needs is SEATING. Seating to eat, seating for people who don’t want to go on the rides (but have party members who do), seating to sit down for two minutes and have something to drink and figure out what’s next.
