Well… it looks like Disney is just getting more and MORE expensive!

MagicBands!
Prices for Disney World tickets have gone up, prices for Disney World Annual Passes have gone up, and now they are removing an amazing perk that helped save you money on your Disney World vacation! Why Disney, WHY?!
Many perks come with staying in a Disney World hotel! This includes things like close proximity to the park, transportation to the park, early entry and after-hours, and discounted MagicBands. Now, Disney is removing the perk of getting discounted MagicBands.

MagicBand+ in Disney World
Some people were able to get discounted MagicBands yesterday, but as of today, there are no more discounts offered for Disney World hotel guests. However, they aren’t the only ones who lost the discount. This is news we did not want to hear, so we just had to check online, and sure enough…

…the discount is gone. You can see with the Grogu band that the price listed is $44.99. That used to be $34.99, a pretty decent drop in price. This was an amazing perk for guests who chose to stay on property, and especially for families and larger parties!

It wasn’t a typo, unfortunately (we did have our fingers crossed), the discount was gone across all MagicBands.

As for solid MagicBands, there is no discount provided for those anymore, but they sit at a price of $34.99.

We didn’t want to believe it was true, so we even chatted with a Cast Member, who also confirmed with us that this was the new reality. Unfortunately, they removed such a great perk. It was nice for resort guests and Annual Passholders to have access to saving money on MagicBands if they wanted them. MagicBands are very useful when it comes to a Disney World vacation. They can be used to pay, open your hotel room, enter the park, and interact with gold statues around the park. Now guests will need to budget more!

No….we’re not going to budget more to buy them!!!! We enjoy wdw quite well without one! And we remember when wdw gave them for FREE with your reservation. All you had to do was choose your color. Getting so disgusted with Disney’s money grab for every aspect of visiting….
Wow… this is really lousy. The discount wasn’t much most of the time, but at least it was something in recognition of everything you’ve paid for your trip otherwise (and all the price increases that have gone along with it). A lot of people were already opting not to get MBs as it is. If our existing MBs still work, we may not get new ones for our next trip, and that’s been a big tradition for us.
Magic Bands are a thing of the past. You can do pretty much all the same things with an Apple Watch, without having to wear an additional item.
I was just saying to my hubby yesterday that I believe I am about done with Disney. We have been LIFELONG Disney guests, Passholders, “resort staying and money spending in their parks people”! Our children have been going since they were in the womb (now in their 30’s) and we cannot understand the level of greed and just the almost gleeful pricing of middle class Americans out of the experience. Yay capitalism let them eat cake says all the billionaires ….. but we know they do not listen to their guests just their stockholders 😢
There we go greed more greed they need to make more money.
Wow they just keep raising prices and getting more greedy by the day. They are going to price themselves out of mainstream market.
I agree with Anber and the others. Disney keeps increasing prices on everything. What is next? A charge to flush your toilet at your resort?
That is unfortunate – i just a got a new magic band+ for my upcoming trip and had been reluctant to get a new one as they are (IMHO) pretty expensive – i do like having a magic band and have been happy with my older ones (which still work fine) and couldn’t justify the expense – i finally went ahead a got a new one two weeks ago as we are staying at Disney next month and i got it at a discount – i would not have gotten it otherwise. Definite bummer.
I have a bunch at home sitting on a shelf. When they finally conk out back to the key card.
