Who’s ready to caffeinate in Disney World?
Us, it’s us! Now, it’s already no secret that there are plenty of places to get great coffee in Disney World, including Starbucks and Joffrey’s. But sometimes, we see some new coffee drinks pop up in unexpected places, and it seems like Disney World is finally jumping on the cold brew trend (Disneyland has been riding that trend for a while), so we’ve got some new cold brew drinks in Disney World to tell you about!
Okay, let’s start with a jump down the rabbit hole over in Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom. Cheshire Cafe just dropped The White Rabbit. It’s Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee with White Chocolate Sauce, Raspberry Cold Foam, Raspberry Powder, and a Chocolate Piece for $6.79. First, though, we have to show you what this drink is SUPPOSED to look like:
Let’s just say our version of The White Rabbit looked like The Queen of Hearts got a hold of it. Yes, there’s a whole expectation vs. reality thing going on here.
With that being said, our reporter isn’t a big coffee drinker, although cold brew usually doesn’t have that bitter taste that comes with coffee that’s brewed hot. However, we liked the whipped cream on top, and we could taste the raspberry, but it’s only on top with the cream. The coffee was sweet and had very little bitterness, but our reporter just couldn’t get over how watery it seemed. So your mileage on this drink could vary, but we were disappointed.
The Honey-Lavender Cold Brew has landed over at Golden Oak Outpost. It’s made with Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee with Honey-Lavender Cold Foam, Honeycomb Toffee, and a Sugar Candy Piece for $6.29. The same reporter tried this one, and even as someone who doesn’t normally drink coffee, this one was a hit. We loved the sweet foam on top, as well as the sweetness from the honeycomb. It’s a well-balanced cold brew with some unique flavors, and we really appreciated that. So this is one that would even please someone who doesn’t regularly drink coffee.
Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can grab a new cold brew at Epic Eats. It’s the Epic Cold Brew Spectacular! Yep, with a name like that, we had high expectations. It’s made with Vanilla-Flavored Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee with Cookie Butter Cold Foam and “Your Share of the Treasure” for $6.79. In case you didn’t figure it out, this is a coffee themed to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, and the little chocolate Indiana Jones hat on top is TOO cute. The hat is just a hollow piece of chocolate, and it’s just standard milk chocolate. But it’s still a lot of fun.
That hint of vanilla in the coffee is SO nice, and it’s light, so it doesn’t weigh down the drink. If you want to get that cookie butter flavor, though, it sinks to the bottom, so give it a good stir. But overall, it’s a solid drink, and we would seek it out just for the sake of it. It’s also a nice addition to the Epic Eats menu. HOWEVER, we saw a lot of kids who wanted this drink, and well, unless you’re willing to give your kids coffee, it’s probably a “no.” So maybe we need some kind of kids’ version, too?
So now that we’re good and energized, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more new food and drinks in Disney World. So stay tuned to DFB for more.
