We were thrilled to hear that beignets were coming to Golden Oak Outpost after Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in 2024, but we have to admit, they’ve often let us down.
Will these new beignets live up to what we want them to be?
They’re not as fluffy as we’d like them to be, so we often recommend skipping them and heading over to Port Orleans French Quarter for beignets instead. However, there’s a new addition that just debuted here, and we’ve gotta admit, they ARE a step up from the normal ones we’ve had in the past!
Right now, you can grab the Banana-Caramel Beignets at Golden Oak Outpost for $8.79. These are Light, Sweet, and Fluffy Beignets with Powdered Sugar, Bananas, and Caramel Sauce.
Banana-Caramel Beignets
The banana and caramel topping really elevates the beignets here! The bananas are soft and have that slightly caramelized flavor to them, and the caramel sauce is silky and has a similar consistency to maple syrup. The beignets are also topped with powdered sugar, making these VERY sweet, but we feel it would pair well with the breakfast sandwich they have there for some sweet and savory action.
They’re VERY sweet!
The beignets by themselves are still just okay. They’re not super fluffy or soft, but are instead buttery and doughy, which isn’t our favorite. The caramel sauce does help with making them taste a bit softer, which we really enjoyed, but we still think these could be improved with better batter. However, unlike the regular beignets, which are pretty much a one-and-done, we’d totally get these again, especially if we’re craving something sweet.
Pack the bananas inside for a great combination!
