When it comes to dining at Disneyland Resort, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? They’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? They’ve got that too. And if you want to treat yourself to something luxurious? Make a reservation at one of their popular upscale dining options.
We recently stopped by Corn Dog Castle at Disney California Adventure to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth? Find out here!
Atmosphere
Corn Dog Castle is an outdoor kiosk type location with outdoor seating where you can try Disneyland’s classic corn dog! This restaurant is more tucked away near the Paradise Gardens section of the park, in between Goofy’s Sky School and Seaside Souvenirs.
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
The menu here is pretty limited, as it’s only focused on, you guessed it, corn dogs! Specifically, you can grab a Hot-Link Corn Dog, Original Corn Dog, or the Cheddar Cheese Stick. Each one is served with your choice of a Cuties orange or a bag of chips. To drink, you can grab a few different sodas, Bottled Water, Hot Cocoa, or Coffee.
However, during seasonal times of the year, you can also often find seasonal sippers and popcorn buckets here. And now, onto the main event — the food!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Original Corn Dog for $11.29, which is dipped in Corn Batter and fried to a golden Brown.
It’s hard to ever go wrong with this option! Corn Dog Castle is one of the most consistent quick service restaurants for both quality and the menu options. It’s always served hot and fresh as they’re made to order. The breading has a crunchy, golden brown texture, then a sweet honey flavor that’s just wonderful. Inside, the hot dog was nothing special, just a rich beefy flavor and a nice texture that wasn’t too chewy, but together, it’s a classic!
We also grabbed the Hot-Link Corn Dog for $11.49, which is the spicy version of their classic Corn Dog. This has a light spicy/smoky aftertaste, but the same beefy flavor and crunchy texture, and that smoky spice kicks in after a second. The spice is pretty light, but if you want something with a little extra flavor, this may be a better choice for you.
Finally, we have the Cheddar Cheese Stick for $10.49. While this may be the smallest item, we highly recommend sharing it.
While we’ve always enjoyed this offering, usually after a few bites, we’re good, because it’s so rich thanks to that cheddar flavor and its melty texture. That means this one is more of a snack, we feel, so we don’t recommend it as a full meal.
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You love corn dogs
- You want a classic Disneyland Resort snack
- You want something to share with your group
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You don’t like corn dogs
- You’re looking for something really filling
- You want to be able to sit inside
Overall
We think this spot is super solid, and it never disappoints us. That is, as long as you know that corn dogs are offerings you like! We also do recommend allowing a little extra time here, even if you’re mobile ordering, because as these are made-to-order, they may take a little longer.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!
