There’s a lot happening in Disney World today! They’re tearing down buildings, adding new versions of our favorite attractions, and more.

The changes have been a lot to keep up with, and now, it seems like even Disney is getting overwhelmed. How do we know? The My Disney Experience App is down!
You okay, Disney World? We think they’re going through it because the My Disney Experience App is going through it. The app sent a push message to our phones stating that they are experiencing technical issues.

Disney apologized for any inconvenience and assured users that they are actively working on fixing the issues. This can throw a real wrench into guests’ plans because the app can be used for a ton of your planning in the park. It’s where you book your skip-the-line passes thanks to Lightning Lanes, you can mobile order your meals, it shows wait times around the parks, stores your photos, and more.

The app joins several other online tools in experiencing issues today, thanks to an Amazon Cloud Computing outage. According to AP News, internet users around the world have been experiencing disruptions on October 20th because of Amazon’s Web Services (AWS). Services like Snapchat, Roblox, Fortnite, and more have been impacted. Roughly 3 hours after the outage, Amazon confirmed it is starting to recover from the problem.

AWS provides “behind-the-scenes cloud computing infrastructure to many government departments, universities, and businesses… which allows them to provide online services.” Amazon stated there were “significant error rates” and that engineers were “actively working” on the issues.

The Walt Disney Company does use AWS, according to Business Wire. They began using the service in 2021 to help expand Disney+ globally; however, it is unclear if they use it within the theme parks section of the company. It’s no surprise that this outage has also impacted Disney+! Disney’s streaming service is also currently down.

It isn’t just Disney World, though. If you’re traveling today, we have seen issues across several different locations. Over at the Orlando International Airport, we have noticed 127 flight delays at the popular airport and 2 cancellations. According to AeroTime, airline websites, like as Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Southwest Airlines, were also impacted by the outage.

Reportedly, Delta and United’s websites had disruptions on and off for several hours. We are eager to see how long the outage lasts and how it will impact guests’ experiences as well as their travel plans. Be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news and updates.

Are good to go days less busy? It seems like they might have been busier than reservation days when I’ve gone on those days.
Yes, was at Hollywood Studios on Monday and saw the same issues, some of the entrance scanners were not working and so far I have not gotten my photos from Rock and Roller Coaster posted yet. Also got the Pardon the Inconvenience message many times throughout the day. Rise of the Resistance was way late in opening so did this impact it also.
Hi Crystal! No, Good to Go days are not necessarily less crowded. A Good to Go day is simply a day when certain Annual Passholders can enter a park without a theme park reservation, but it does not guarantee lower crowd levels. Park attendance on these days is still subject to capacity, and crowd levels can vary depending on the specific date and park.
We must stop Amazon!
We were in Hollywood Studios yesterday and quick service could not take any DDP credits or use gift cards during outage. Had to pay with cash or credit card. Checking in for Lightning Lanes was having issues for some users and not others. Once it cleared up everything was back as normal, but employees remained pleasant and apologetic. Nice place to be even in a park wide outage.
