So if you’re here, you’re probably like us, and you love good food. Well, here’s the thing…airplane food is often anything BUT good. It can be bland, boring, and sometimes completely unappetizing. But what if we told you that was changing, at least for one airline?
Delta Air Lines recently announced that it is curating NEW meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a Disney World chef, and he isn’t just ANY Disney World chef, he’s a James Beard award-winning chef. Yep, select Delta Air Lines flights will soon have meals curated by José Andrés, who owns Jaleo in Disney Springs.
That’s right, starting on November 4th, Delta is teaming up with Chef José Andrés to bring his flavors of Spain to breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Delta One and Delta First on select flights, with a phased rollout of meals planned through 2026.
Some of the entrees you can expect on these flights include:
- Spanish Tortilla with Pisto Manchego: a classic Spanish egg-and-potato omelet with a rich vegetable stew, served at breakfast.
- Braised Beef Short Rib in a Mojo Rojo BBQ Sauce: tender and savory, with a tangy, smoky sauce and creamy polenta
- Stuffed Piquillo Peppers: with a goat cheese and mushroom filling drizzled with piquillo bechamel
- Spanish Style Chicken: Chicken thigh with a rich sauce of sherry and dried fruit, served with celeriac-potato puree, roasted carrots, and pearl onions.
Um…YUM!
Chef Andrés’ team worked closely with Delta on everything from portion sizes, reheating methods, and presentation, so you get a good quality Spanish tapas-quality meal even if you’re 30,000 feet in the air.
In addition, Delta is launching a new wine program that will be available through September 2026 with a “thoughtfully curated selection of wines” chosen in collaboration with world-renowned Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson.
