It is not a trip to a Disney World park without getting at least a snack or two (or more!). We are slightly obsessed with Disney food — alright, more than slightly…more like completely obsessed. But for a good reason! A trip to Disney World is not cheap, and we want to make sure you are spending your hard-earned money on the best of the best.
We are constantly trying new food items and revisiting others to ensure we are providing you with the best advice. Just because we liked a certain Disney World snack a year ago doesn’t mean it is the same and still as good today. That is why we are always grabbing food and giving you our thoughts. We know, we know, it’s a tough job when you are snacking for work 😂 When we were at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently, we revisited two snacks and are giving you our full reviews.
We are going to start with the more disappointing snack. Starting with the bad news, and ending with the good news! We headed over to Catalina Eddie’s for the Garlic Bread with Marinara, which costs $7.49. The side comes with three slices of garlic bread and a cup of marinara. There was nothing awful about this snack, but it didn’t knock our socks off either. It is a middle-of-the-road snack that would hit the spot if you have a particular craving for garlic bread.
The marinara was very chunky and thick, but it tasted like a classic marinara sauce. Nothing special, but it gets the job done. We had a similar sentiment with the bread. It was tasty enough, but this isn’t a snack that we recommend going out of your way for. The garlic bread is like the Texas toast garlic bread you can buy in the grocery store and heat up in your own oven. No need to go all the way to Disney World to try!
Next, we stopped by ABC Commissary to grab the Strawberry-Lemon Cheesecake for $5.79. We already spoiled the verdict on this treat earlier, but we really enjoyed this dessert! Not only does it look really pretty, but it also tastes great. It has a zesty lemony flavor in the thick, yet creamy cheesecake. Then you get a taste of fruity and sweet strawberry from the whipped cream topping.
The dessert is pretty rich, and we really enjoyed the tangy lemon flavor complemented by the sweet, berry flavors. Since it is pulled straight from the refrigerator, we recommend consuming it fairly quickly after you purchase it. We thought it tasted even better after sitting out for a bit, as it was softer and creamier. However, you won’t want to carry this around with you in the park and expect it to taste good later in the day.
This dessert is definitely one of our favorites right now in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We may not be rushing back for the Garlic Bread, but we will be back for the Strawberry-Lemon Cheesecake. Make sure you stay tuned to DFB for even more Disney World food reviews!
