If you’re a big fan of collecting special Disney merchandise, especially FREE Disney merchandise, you won’t want to miss this new Magic Key offer!
Magic Key holders are Disneyland’s version of Annual Passholders, and similar to Disney World’s annual pass system, Magic Key holders often get access to special deals, discounts, events, and more that regular guests aren’t eligible for. If you’re a collector AND a Magic Key holder, there are new collectible cards you can begin snagging THIS week, but from what we’re seeing, many passholders are NOT happy about it.
The Disneyland Magic Key account on Disneyland just released a new offering for all Magic Key holders, and it begins this week! From November 3rd through November 27th, you can collect a new holiday card each week. The limit is one card per Magic Key holder while supplies last, and you must go INTO the park to collect it.
Based on the video Disney released online, it appears the new cards will be released on November 3rd, November 10th, November 17th, and November 24th. While these cards will be completely free to collect, from the comments on Disney’s Instagram post, many Magic Key holders are NOT happy. Why? Well, because you can only collect the cards Monday-Thursday, which means a LOT of Magic Key holders who work, or are only available to visit on weekends, can’t take advantage of this.
Many other commenters shared that they’d much rather Disney give them a discount when renewing their Magic Key pass, to stop upping the prices on everything, to give Magic Key holders free parking, to remove park pass reservations, or to even bring back the special buttons that used to be available for Magic Key holders. All in all, it appears many Magic Key holders are NOT a fan of this new addition, because they feel Disney has ignored their pleas and requests for other perks and instead has given them something no one asked for, and many key holders can’t take advantage of.

Keyholders frequently get complimentary Mickey bars and souvenirs. Meanwhile, to spoil APs in Orlando; an AP exclusive blue raspberry lemonade and a turtle sundae at full price. Oh, and a bi-annual free magnet. Just some perspective here, Disney friends.
I’m in Orlando, and my AP renewal (Incredipass) is less than $1400 per year. That’s the top pass, with no Christmas blockout. I also hold an Inspire pass, and it just went up $150 per year.
