If you’re craving a caffeine fix at Downtown Disney at Disneyland today, you’ll have to go somewhere other than Starbucks to get it.
Starbucks at Downtown Disney
The Starbucks location at Downtown Disney Anaheim is unexpectedly closed.
The Downtown Disney Starbucks store is temporarily closed, according to the Starbucks app. It’s showing that store hours are not currently available. As of now, the Starbucks inside Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are still open and operating.

On Instagram, @disneymikem shared a photo of a sign posted on the door that reads, “Our location is temporarily closed. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please visit one of the locations inside Disneyland Park or Disney’s [sic] California Adventure Park. Thank you.” It was also reported that the tables and chairs outside the Starbucks had been removed.

While neither Disney nor Starbucks has confirmed, this closure may have to do with the ongoing push from the unionized Starbucks employees for fair labor practices. Earlier last week, unionized employees overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The union said baristas are prepared to strike if contract negotiations cannot be finalized by November 13th. While this deadline is a few days away, it’s possible that the Downtown Disney Starbucks store is already feeling the impact.

UPDATE: After walking off the job on Saturday night, baristas from the Downtown Disney Starbucks have been on the picket line ever since, according to KTLA.
The Starbucks Workers United union represents 12,000 workers at around 650 shops. More than 55 unionized stores are in California, including the Downtown Disney location, which voted to unionize in 2022.
