If you’ve ever strolled through EPCOT’s United Kingdom Pavilion, you know it’s full of cozy charm with cobblestone streets, red phone boxes, and a classic pub that feels like it’s been plucked straight from across the pond. But our readers from the UK are sharing their rules for visiting!

UK Pavilion
We asked our readers on Facebook what they ALWAYS or NEVER do when visiting the UK Pavilion, and let’s just say… they did not hold back! Here are the unspoken rules our British readers swear by when visiting EPCOT’s little slice of home, and why it should matter to you.
1. Never Buy a Drink You’d Never Touch Back Home
“Who actually in the UK drinks Harp?” asked Gemma McKenna, and that sentiment got a LOT of nods from fellow Brits. While EPCOT might boast an impressive international drink menu, locals from across the pond say the UK Pavilion’s selection feels a bit… questionable. Simon Cavendish, though, admits he orders a snakebite (a half-cider, half-lager mix) because it reminds him of his teenage years, and Disney is the one place he can enjoy it without judgment. Cheers to that!

2. Beware the Fish and Chips Debate
Fish and chips may seem like the obvious order here, but apparently, it’s a controversial choice. Gemma McKenna and Simon Cavendish say they “never” get them because they “just don’t taste as good as back home.” Others, like Helen Bullard, always go for it anyway because she loves the Rose & Crown’s version (even if the portion size is “un-Britishly big”). And Jo Pagdin says she can’t resist because it’s the only place she’s found that serves proper malt vinegar. Verdict? You’ll have to taste (and judge) for yourself.

3. Don’t Expect the Bathrooms To Feel British
According to Andrew Sims, the first sign you’re not really in the UK is the word “Restrooms” instead of “Toilets.” And Stacey Warren-Clarke was quick to add that the stalls definitely aren’t built to British standards because the gaps between the doors can be… well, alarming. If you are from the UK, prepare for a little bathroom culture shock before you wash your hands and move on!

4. Prepare To Laugh (or Cry) at the Prices
“HOW MUCH??????” was Dan Miller’s immediate reaction after checking the UK Pavilion merchandise. From T-shirts to teacups to tins of shortbread, our readers can’t help but chuckle (or groan) at the price tags. Stacey Brady also mentioned she laughs every time she sees how expensive the chocolate bars are, especially when she knows she could get them for a fraction of the cost back home. But hey, that’s Disney pricing for you!

5. It’s Not a Real Trip Without a Pint (Even a Pricey One)
Helen Bullard’s husband insists on grabbing a Guinness every single time, even if it’s “ridiculously high priced.” Why? Because it’s an imperial pint, and that makes it feel just a bit more authentic. Sure, it might not be the cheapest pint he’s ever had, but sipping it while people-watching in EPCOT’s version of a cozy pub? Priceless.

6. Chat Up the Cast Members
James Newton told us he always talks to the Cast Members to see if anyone’s from his hometown, and apparently, that’s a bit of a UK Pavilion tradition! Many guests love that the pavilion is staffed with folks from all over the United Kingdom, so you might just run into someone from your neck of the woods. It’s a small world, after all, and spotting a familiar accent adds a little extra magic to your visit.

7. Skip It Altogether
For some, the UK Pavilion isn’t exactly a must-do. Esme Bailey said her family usually just walks straight through: “We can get it all at home, so we’d rather spend the time finding new things to try and do.” And honestly, fair enough, when you’ve traveled all the way to Florida, you might be more interested in the sushi in Japan or pastries in France. EPCOT’s all about exploring the world, after all!

8. Petition for Greggs
Dan Miller joked that the UK Pavilion desperately needs a Greggs, and anyone who’s ever had one of those famous sausage rolls knows he’s right. Imagine grabbing a warm steak bake or jam doughnut while strolling through EPCOT, because that’s the kind of magic British guests are dreaming of.

It might not be exactly like home, but that’s part of its charm. It’s a place where familiarity meets a touch of Disney magic (and maybe a slightly overpriced pint).
