While we’re in the Disney World parks nearly every day and can see what crowd levels look like, what rides are struggling, and warn you about potential trends to watch out for, we can’t see the numbers that The Walt Disney Company can.
That’s where their Earnings Calls come in! Each quarter of the year, The Walt Disney Company hosts an earnings call to update shareholders on what’s going on inside the company, as well as share an earnings report. This includes what areas are profitable, what needs a little help, and sometimes, if we’re really lucky, some new information about upcoming attractions, films, and more. On November 13th, Disney held their Q4 earnings call that we listened in on, and we got a BIG update on what theme park attendance is looking like right now.
The Disney Experiences division covers Disney’s theme parks, Disney Cruise Line, and merchandise. During the Q4 earnings call, Disney shared that revenue from Disney’s domestic parks and experiences has increased by 6% from $5.5 billion in 2024 to $5.8 billion in 2025.
However, in a report filed with the SEC, Disney reported that “declines in U.S., global, and regional economic conditions, such as recessions, other less severe slowdowns in economic activity and/or inflationary conditions typically adversely affect demand for our products and services and/or costs to operate our businesses, reducing our revenue and earnings.” The company reported theme park attendance was down 1 percent. However, higher spending by guests, strong hotel bookings, Disney Cruise Line’s growth, and growth at Disneyland Paris helped offset that drop.
Operating income was up 9% from $847 million in 2024 to $920 million in 2025. Disney noted that operating income increased due to Disney Cruise Line’s growth, thanks to more passenger cruise days. This was partially offset by higher fleet expansion costs due to the launch of the Disney Treasure in the first quarter. By comparison, in Q3, attendance at Disney’s domestic parks and experiences garnered $2.5 billion, an increase of $294 million versus Q3 in the fiscal year 2024.
On the international side, Disney’s revenue is up 10% from $1.5 billion in 2024 to $1.7 billion in 2025. Operating income was up 25% from $299 million in 2024 to $375 million in 2025. Disney attributes international operating income primarily to growth at Disneyland Paris, a well as an increase in attendance at international parks, an increase in guest spending, and the higher costs of new guest offerings.
Keep in mind that Disney has TONS of projects coming soon to their parks over the next few years, especially over in Disney World. In Magic Kingdom, a new Cars-themed area is in progress, as well as a new Villains Land. In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a Monsters, Inc.-themed land is on the way, and Animation Courtyard is currently transforming into Walt Disney Studios. Then, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! has just opened up in the Tree of Life Theater, and Pueblo Esperanza is well underway over in the former DinoLand U.S.A. areas.
